A user was working to cause that inflation. For a while, they were buying every light sprite under their price and giving the AH a price floor. And since people follow the AH price so much... Any scarce retired item, it's very possible to raise the price with enough cash.
looool i'm guessing you're not an adult. i complain about kids being annoying all the time. it's fine, they're kids, they're allowed to be annoying. but sometimes you gotta complain privately to other adults.
tons of adults, in real life, absolutely do this all the time in private company. i would even wager almost every adult has done this at some point. it's not evil for them to privately talk about it to others, especially if they've tried to tell the kid to think about their actions before they do them as they suggested they have in the last screenshot.

absolutely not shocked, there's a long history of people putting petsite stuff over their lives. this is not the first birth that someone has prioritized a petsite for; very recently, someone on the neopets reddit talked about doing dailies WHILE going into labor.

this actually isn't that weird, sometimes labor lasts for many hours and can get boring bc you're just sitting in the hospital. the term "labor" actually encompasses a period of time wider than just the baby literally coming out.
I was thinking this as well, having something to do while basically just waiting could help them take people's mind off of what is happening.

So I saw Whimzica's thread where they were selling some dragons with gijinka art, and I thought it was really weird for them to sell art of such high quality for that low of a price. You can click on the dragons to view the art in full in their bios.

When I was looking at them, I kind of noticed a few things were off and didn't make much sense? It's kind of hard to explain, but I think you can see it the most in the colored art piece. The black of the hair blends into the shoulder in a way that looks like AI, and some bits look blurry for some reason?? I'm no expert on AI art but it just came off as that to me, which is kind of concerning because they're selling it to people who probably think they drew it themselves. In their thread, they didn't actually disclose whether they drew it or not, they just said they're selling dragons with gijinka art, which I feel like is them vague-ing on purpose so that they're not actually lying, but y'know...
They have their own section in Shadow's Foddart (which they manage?) and their art looks vastly different in comparison:

that's 100% AI art. the styles aren't consistent and it has the same wispiness to the hair and vagueness to details that AI art of humans has. super sketchy that they run shadow's foddart and are doing this
SA because I just glanced at their art in shadow's foddart and in the politest way I can say this, clear skill level difference, as well.

Yeah I'm getting AI vibes too. Especially on the ones that show the same character multiple times but the details are inconsistent.

Oh man I forgot ladylilitu was involved at all in that mess. Probably because they were smart enough to not run around yelling about it everywhere lol. Rowan is enough of a dick to make this a plausible theory, but until we start seeing a lot of long-winded argumentative comments, I don't think we can be sure.
Hi folks, I want to take a moment and address these concerns that have come up recently regarding tracing/copying/AI art. I recently tested out an AI generator and did some repaints and used some of it for character art; and sold a few dragons with those repaints and images.
I've come to learn a lot more about how AI art is made since then, and I am offering my public apology regarding my use of it.
I will be contacting the few purchasers I had and offering refunds for those dragons.
Once again, I sincerely apologize to my FR fam and to the wider art community for my actions. I will not be using these generators in the future.
