They don't just remove unpopular stuff. The Covers, the Silver Sylvan... they're not unpopular. I see the Covers being used everywhere, for example.
However my big issue is the lack of forewarning. We should get a larger forewarning on if something's cycling out for half a year/a year. A week. is. not. enough. time. Give us a month. Like what was done with the bard apparel. We got a month's warning on that.

fair enough!

Cheers, no hard feelings.
Yeah, this was the only thing that raised my brow. The MP is terrible. The revamp mostly made it worse.
You're cashing in on FOMO. That's a reasonable business strategy. But pretending that cycling out gem items is done in order to improve user experience rubs me the wrong way. (Same as businesses still operating on reduced hours for 'covid safety' when it's obviously about not being willing/able to pay enough employees in the current economy. [/soapbox])

The aura - well, people would have complained if it were just brown/grey rocks (so BORING!!!) and people would have complained if it were colorful gemstones (does not fit with MY earth aesthetic!!!), so I guess they could have done worse than thumb their nose at both camps and make a bonus fire aura instead.
Don't get me wrong, I personally love it - I have a volcano-themed dragon this thing was so perfectly made for that it's uncanny - but I really wish we were getting a second year (or more!) of aura apparel so that more options could be explored. (I'm already preemptively disappointed that Nature's is inevitably going to be flowers (ignoring that we already have spring's breath for that) instead of the simple green leaves that I need on so many dragons.)

So Lorwolf is in Early Access now.
Ummm surprised that people were excited for this site? The game feels so rough I can't believe this is early access. The way that systems are unrefined and unbalanced it feels more like alpha or early beta testing.
The coliseum equivalent is... pretty bad. I remember people being so excited because unlike FR, the fights would be automated. The AI for the wolves is terrible. They'll attack a single target down to no HP and instead of finishing them off, they'll start attacking the other targets. This usually causes you to lose the fight.
Been getting bad vibes from this place seeing how much they advertise their print on demand merch, sad to see my worries were reasonable.

A lot of the features and mini-games are pretty fun and well executed, from my experience.
I do agree, however, on some points. I think LW has been a bit overhyped, in part due to many people purchasing so much from the kickstarter/bundles in the hopes of off-site trades with FR. Some people are hoping to profit the same way others did when DV was released.
Also, the automated AI is not my favorite thing. I do like that I don't need to press so many buttons (my wrists are thankful), but it does lead the fate of battles up to RNG, which can be frustrating.
I guess only time will tell if LW will maintain its player-base.

Weirdly, it felt less rough and buggy in beta- proof that more testing was needed for new features, I guess. I'm willing to forgive some early roadbumps ASSUMING that they fix up and acknowledge the problems promptly and reasonably

Some of the minigames are fine, such as fishing, but farming is so bad. If you don't babysit (or give the boar food, which probably difficult for new players) your crops die and you get nothing. Seeds are sold in uneven amounts compared to how many are required per plot. Crafting also feels bad due to how difficult it is to level at first. You're completely at the mercy of waiting for the shop to restock in 5 hour increments to get necessary recipes to make other tasks easier.
They also do not clearly communicate what leveling up does for the professions. What does leveling up cooking do? Does it make things cook faster? Burn less often? Why doesn't cooking have a timer to tell you how long things take?
Campaign is crazy unbalanced in general. If you start out in Murkwood quests, the enemies poison and bleed you in the second zone requiring you to be very over leveled to beat them. Currently I can't even win against three level 4's in the third zone because of poison, and my wolves are max level.
Recently discovered that when you cancel something on the player market you have to.... claim it via a message in your inbox... Why are we going back to old FR ;___;
There are so many small things that haven't been thought of that it really makes me worry their ability to make a fun and competent game. It seems like neither of the owners have any game dev experience.
Don't even get me started on their actually predatory premium currency packs.

I just full-body cringed in remembrance. Why indeed. My sympathies to y'all who are involved with this site.

Name and shame, nonny. They should be dragged for taking advantage of folks.
Also, what did you trade?

Sorry to hear that. The shitty scammers are the biggest flaw in the community.
I love being in a community where I have to post "Is there something I'm missing or is this a good offer?" on Discord for all random offers.

Anyone know how this player managed to acquire millions of gems since joining a few months ago? In the past I would say it's an offsite trader but I feel like no offsite games are that popular anymore

I'm dumb. Apparently they bought over $15k worth of gems directly? I hope they are rich. Also why would you buy the gems before you know someone can make the trade
yeah i was surprised nobody was talking about this user here - i don’t doubt that they purchased 15k+ in gems if staff hasn’t said anything about it, but damn if that isn’t tacky af. even if they’re a whale making bad financial choices rather than someone w that kind of disposable income… yikes???
Yeah that's not drama, that's just dumb lol.
Isn't it is sus that someone joined six months ago and decided to spend $15,000 on a Boolean? I wouldn't be surprised if this was an alt
It might be an alt, but someone mentioned it could be someone who had an old account that got locked. Since you are allowed to make new accounts if your old ones are locked, it would mean they aren't a 'new' player and would know what things are worth.
Then again, if it IS a whale, I would imagine that whales would probably study a game either before they join it if possible, or start doing so immediately after joining, so they know what items are worth going after. So, they would know that Booleans are somewhat sought after and are very limited.

I mean yeah it's hardly a secret
You're letting your F2P "elitism" show. Without whales like this, games like FR couldn't exist. I don't know FR's bills, but I wouldn't be shocked if that covers a month+ of server operations.
There is no shame or tackiness in dropping money on a game you like. Only if you have a problem that makes you do it irresponsibly, which we have no way of knowing here, and it seems rude to assume all big spenders are such.

You know, you can really tell the Tumblr user m3g4l4d0n-fr3nzy had was banned from FR before. The temper tantrums every time staff exists on Tumblr are amazingly funny to see.
Dude, you know you just make staff more likely to look your way carrying on like that.
