They got banned due mass false multiaccounting reports - their ban notice said multi-accounting. Which is probably why they got unbanned shortly after.
It's not an automated process, but humans are also influenced by lots of reports.
If they get a certain threshold of reports, banning to investigate is due diligence, but... They need to at least give the folks mass false reporting a warning and/or potential account action to keep that from being abused.
Automatic, no. But I've seen enough evidence that I believe procedure may include ban for investigation in cases where a potentially large amount of potentially ill gotten gains are involved.
Yeah and Feets notice also said multi accounting. Happened not long after they got the ks vista which I know was a legitimate trade. People just get butthurt when someone gets something rare and like to assume the worst so they mass report.
