Bought the codes off another user. Not an original KS backer.

do you have screenshots of the act or where they said they did?

Please provide caps, evidence, etc.

i'm sure you can see i'm not the same person, but with some slight sleuthing on my part, this person may be running off of contextual assumptions. they started in 2014 on a registration window date no less (june 3, 2014), so they could have been a backer but late to sign up an account and had to wait (i doubt this, as i don't think there's any precedent for backers being unable to join at any point- i'm happy to be proven wrong though), or they could have gotten the code from someone else. they do have an auction up with proof of owning an imperial scroll in the AH. in their auction thread, they say that they traded for it, and have been hemming and hawing over using it for a while, but they want to get a boolean from it and then some.

additionally, their profile stated they got the Founder achievement on may 6th, which can only be gotten using a kickstarter code. this is NOT an indicator that they got the code from someone else, but it's not exactly common for someone to have donated to a kickstarter and waited almost 9 years to activate a code unless they were really, REALLY forgetful, especially when they signed up a year after the site's launch..

either way, FR ALLOWS people to trade FR codes and such within their own site's currencies/items/dragons, so it's... not like this is a problem, anyway? this only is a problem if booleano traded for things NOT from flight rising for it.

Thank you for an actually reasonable presentation of the events in question. I understand why people can get suspicious, but nobody seems to know how to behave ever when imp scroll stuff comes up :/

if it helps, then i'm glad. really, it all comes down to looking at the finer detail that FR publicly shows about the user and putting 2+2 together. if the anon who reported the situation has anything else to show outside of that, i'd be happy to see it, because it's possible they know something that booleano isn't letting on and i have no access to it.

it's fair that people can feel suspicious when FR is rife with RMT/unallowed trades, and has a history of kickstarter item disasters (imp scroll dupe apocalypse comes to mind), though i agree that people need to step back a little bit and do more digging or think more critically. not everyone who gets a rare thing needs to be called out.

Honest truth, at a code level, there is nothing wrong with selling for real life cash. It's not a site item yet, staff has no real jurisdiction to stop it.

actually, codes that are redeemable for items can be legally protected under voucher laws varying by state. it's similar to a gift certificate in the eyes of the law; it is an unredeemed cash value asset.

What states is this the case in? I'm honestly curious. Google couldn't find anything when I tried looking.

There was a user who finally joined 6-8 years after fr and used their imp scrolls without realizing the values and FR team vouched that they had legitimate codes because a lot of individuals were kind of side eyeing them.

Seriously, some people need to mind their own business. Staff needing to tell people that to not have them harassed is idiocy.

From lurking in the Gen1 Hell discord, it seems that Feet #239575, who Booleano/a friend of Booleano's (unclear) traded unused KS codes with so that Feet could get the KS vistas, and one of their other friends got banned today. I'd be wary of the imp scroll auction now too.

i thinks its because they are so rare so everyone is inherently suspicious of them being sold, considering many were done on the sly, or 'auctions'.

they will either sell to ado on the side, get locked or go through with the auction.

Only thing I pulled up is the fact they're auctioning an imp scroll- and it's actually on the AH.

would still like to know with proof how they got the scroll and ks items without using BM or outside / hacking / etc otherwise it's just another on the side trade with the auction to cover up like dya's

I feel like the fact they didn’t get banned alongside feet might be enough proof that it was legit? I’m pretty sure staff wouldn’t pussy foot around the ban hammer on an imp scroll
