Since this post will be current until January, thought I'd be salty/have fun with it. Let's see if we get Bingo, shall we?

Saltmine users stop making up scenarios in your head to be scared of. Nobody is going to call you out for having trans/autistic/whatever dragons, for the love of god. How boring do you have to be to think that doing what everyone else is doing is somehow risky?

I kind of get what you're saying, but some people live in countries where LGBTQ is still under threat of being pushed off a building. So. It's not riskless for everybody, and that can be really scary even for those who live in a safe place.

I promise you the governments of those countries aren't lurking dragon profiles. The asks are specifically about getting called out by other users on site/Tumblr. The Taliban has much bigger things on their agendas than checking the pronouns on pixel dragon biographies on an American website.

You seem to be misunderstanding my point. No, they're not getting chased down by government agencies, but the anxiety of knowing they're not even tolerated everywhere can leak into social activities. This is normal human psychology stuff.

governing bodies might not give a shit but there's so many scenarios where the user could get in trouble if the wrong people in meat space happened across certain information and interrogate them

(I remember a long time ago I had two online gay friends who liked each other but one day one of their snooping ass parents saw on their computer screen that they forgot to close out of one day and saw the lovey dovey GAY IMs between the friends. That friend wasnt heard from again until years later when they finally managed to get away from their parents and moved to college. They explained that their homophobic as hell parents saw the IMs and forbade them from ever getting onto the internet without heavy supervision until they graduated and moved out. Honestly the IMs werent even gross or perverted just two gay boys being lovey dovey with each other. Oh and both kids were 16 at the time and this occurred in 2010 FWIW)

you sound privileged

I was born in the American deep south and lived there for 2 decades trans and gay in an interracial relationship lol. Nobody on the blog has ever spoken about people outing them or anything (outing them as autistic? lol), I'm specifically talking about getting called out for being insensitive to other LGBT/ND people for... having a trans dragon with children? Having an autistic dragon that has symptoms of autism? Which is nonsensical and would never happen. Sending the asks only breeds paranoia and further pointless posts.

I want to live in your world where the incredibly cruel infighting of leftists in those circles doesn't exist.

Also trans (and gay) and live in a conservative country. Idk I think the threat of being killed or beaten irl kinda makes me not give a shit if people online make fun of me for having trans dragons.

Which nearly no one does in Fr since many users are LGBTQ and anyone who’s openly transphobic gets dragged. You can’t say the same about transphobes irl.

As someone who's trans, you should know that being outed as autistic can ruin transition, depending on where you live.

I'm autistic and trans- my gender therapist diagnosed me, but NOT on paper, because she said "I don't want to ruin your life. Once you've had surgery, feel free to reach out for an official diagnosis if you want."

MANY places/states will deny you HRT/Surgery if you're diagnosed as autistic, because many doctors believe that autism means you don't have the self awareness to known what you really want.

... What the shit?

That's insanity.

It's true for a lot of disabilities, unfortunately.

AYRT

Yep. Google Kayden Clarke. Prime example. (Content warning for suicide, police brutality, ableism, etc)

I'm glad that you specifically have a therapist who's both savvy and compassionate enough to work the system and help you, but yeah. What the actual fuck.

I specifically just didnt seek mental health help until i was far enough in my transition where it wouldn't endanger me :) This is super common and it sucks ass and is also never talked about

(fun fact in my country you also need to be straight as a trans person to be allowed transition related healthcare so i also stayed in the closet for years while having my psyche picked apart by medical professionals lol)

i'm not sure this is what those users are worried about though? i'm assuming op is referring to two recent saltmine posts (one about breeding a gay trans dragon and the other about putting stims in their dragons profiles), which both came across more as them being worried ppl would call them out for things like stereotypes or fetishization or appropriating things or something.

in which case, yes those anons are probably overthinking it because most people aren't going to care unless you make an actual offensive character, but i can still understand being anxious given there definitely are a few people who would be jerks because they don't think their trans dragon is trans enough or only autistic people are allowed to have an autistic dragon with stims, or so on.

this is how i interpreted those asks as well.
