BINGO

Since this post will be current until January, thought I'd be salty/have fun with it. Let's see if we get Bingo, shall we?

Re: Gene Errors Thread

(Anonymous) 2021-12-31 04:52 am (UTC)(link)I've been doing a Gaoler breeding project with Opal specifically because the muted pastel look of one of the colors caught my eye (and by 'doing' I mean I have literally 200+ dragons in my possession for this project kill me now), never occurred to me that kind of thing could be a bug. Didn't consider any other breeds because I hate how Opal looks on almost everything but male Gaolers because of the face part, but now that I'm scrying others...yeah, it's noticeably brighter.
Still going to grit my teeth and go through with it, I've got too much time invested in this sucker now, at least I can hope I get to enjoy my goal dragon for a couple weeks or something before the shift.

(Anonymous) 2021-12-31 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)Not an unthinkable amount of dragons by my project habits, unfortunately, especially since HDs came along. I don't have a lot of permas, but it would be nice to have all that space for fodder. But I breed for genes as well as color, and if I want eye color outside my flight (which of course I do for this one), you pretty much need identical unrelated parents, since getting lucky once isn't enough.
(And this project is harder than most, of course, because of more limited bloodline pool - at least with WC/Coatl projects you've got the other breed for relief.)

(Anonymous) 2021-12-31 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)Thanks. Breeding projects are a lot of work but usually so satisfying when they're done, so the prospect of just being relieved this one is finally over, when the time comes, is rather a letdown.
