Unpopular opinion: I'd rather not see it release this year if the end result would be a better polished ancient with a nice variety of genes.

Not-really-dissenting opinion: I'm not a bit impatient for a new ancient (I'd forgotten one was even promised), but the inevitable userbase degeneration into backbiting each other over 'STAFF LIES!' and 'DO YOU WANT THEM TO WORK THEMSELVES TO DEATH YOU UNGRATEFUL BABIES?' isn't an appealing prospect.

Honestly, I popcorn that shit, but I get why you hate it. Grown adults acting like that is not everyone's entertainment.

I have a mess of gene projects I need done in 2 months. Rather not set it back further with shiny new abomination of a breed acquisition.

Sounds pretty guaranteed to be next year at this point.

'Fuck up' and 'even though they promised they would' is pretty dramatic given what they said originally was that it was 'on the horizon for this year' and staff have repeatedly said they don't give fixed etas.
