they posted a cute dragon in a forum thread and i went to give them a like, but they have me blocked

i've never interacted with them, i hardly post in the forums, like i'm not mad or anything just confused

has this happened to anyone else?

Reasons I block folks without interaction:

*Annoying signatures/fonts/colors
*Accent resellers
*General asshattery in the forums
*Friends with known bigots (I block folks who are friends with people like Dracoon, etc)

Adding to this

- Listing a bunch of hungry dragons in the AH
- I just think theyre annoying

And this one is very niche and petty but
- dsmp fans

- spamming in the item database
- posting "first!!!" in an announcement/popular thread

one petty reason I like to block for:
writing "I inspired/I am the creator of/I made the concept of apparel\gene\familiar" everywhere. see Natron, WarriorJames.

Natron was the supposed inspiration of something in-game?? wha

they make around five hundred posts in the Apparel and Gene Suggestion threads and each time something happens that they suggested (like, recolours of harvest apparel) which literally everyone expected anyway to happen, they claim they inspired it because they made mockups of those recolours in the thread. can't find the post anymore where they listed it all down but I remember it used to be in their profile some while ago.
And I'm generally uncomfortable with the whole "be gay do crimes lololol shitty science shitty memes yelling everywhere" personality and the whole gen1 imp debacle so easy block for me.

In other words, it you throw enough shit at walls, some of it sticks, and they think that means they inspired it.

Basically, it was a while ago when I blocked them but if you go through the suggestion threads it's just. piles of them. the thing that pushed me over was literally 3 posts of them in a row just going "omg omg and another idea" "wait this would be so good" "omg also"

Another reason might be is IF you are a frequent undercutter so people will block you so you cant see their listings to undercut? Or on the other side of that coin perhaps you just sell items in general and they block you so you can't see their listings anyway. I'm looking at you, Parnasse, you dickhead

Do you post ten thousand pages of starving fodder for base price, under ten different multis? Do you pop into my messages to THANK me for BUYING your DRAGON? Do you use a flashing GIF in your sig?

Don't even worry about it, people block for all kinds of silly reasons.

If you send friend requests to people without interacting with them much, that might also do it. Because the only thing that happens when you decline a friend request is that the person can send another, and the only way to stop that is to block. Unfortunately.

Otherwise, you might have broken some stupid personal rule or standard the person has. Maybe they swapped you a dragon and got offended you put it in the AH. Or in your hibden. Or swapped it in a thread they didn't want the dragon swapped in. That's happened to me. I'm about positive I got blocked for putting someone's game dragon in my hibden. Intended on thawing it out to play the game later, but now I don't feel very inclined anymore for some reason lmao

Or, on the 'stupid unwritten rule' thing, you may have bought a dragon at fodder floor price and (*gasp*) exalted it, even though the bio very explicitly told you not to.

One reason why I blocked someone was because they were a minor (early teens) and they straight up said in their profile that they didn't want to interact with people much older than them so I went ahead and blocked them so it wouldn't ever happen.

I have in my profile that I don't want to interact with minors, save for basic things like trading, sales, but had a 13 y/o try to strike up a conversation about RP that had some rather dark subject matter, so I told them to try again in five years, and blocked them.

phhht, this made me laugh because damn that is such a 13 year old thing to do

Here's a reverse situation: ever forget why you had someone blocked, curiously unblock them to see one of their posts and immediately realize why you had them blocked? Well, just had that happen.
