Since this post will be current until January, thought I'd be salty/have fun with it. Let's see if we get Bingo, shall we?

Re: Discord Drama! Adult Content Channel Requiring Real ID?

Deleting a photo from any service or the internet does not get rid of it. Uploading anything anywhere will leave traces. If it goes on the internet, it is never gone; there will always be a trail of breadcrumbs leading right back to you, and you can never do anything about it unless the servers are factory formatted or physically destroyed. Since Discord also uses Amazon Web Services (which gets fucked over every week, nowadays), you'd have to wipe AWS, too, and you can bet your sweet ass Bezos and his bozos aren't gonna do that for you, for Discord, or even God itself.

Also, if one of those mods gets their account taken over whether by a mistake of their own or Discord's, and someone sends them their ID? That mod you wrongfully trusted with your ID isn't that mod anymore; it's some rando on the internet who could completely use it for whatever fun purposes, like *scraping for metadata which often contains geolocation information!* If good ol' John McAfee got caught in Guatemala because of a photograph's metadata, you're not fucking immune.

I keep saying it; their heart is in the right place because kids should not be accessing these things, but they do not have the security or the money to be asking anyone for their IDs.
