people defend accent and art thieves on flightrising all the time so its a gray area honestly.

site has been around for years and there's still no definitive line for copying because the rules are only set when its an artist people personally like. theft be damned. look at spassow for example, literally cut and pasting pieces of artwork and not a thing happened. in fact aequorin defended her.

what about pesticide's gradient accents from years ago? caught copy and pasting from brushes but the accents are still on site. there are many other cases.

imo this conversation is full of hypocrites. so, no. you can't copyright a concept.

but just don't place them in the exact same place in the exact same way and style.

obviously you shouldn't do this but genuine good faith question- what if you actually do want to place them in the same place, because you like where it's placed? can you do that if you don't do the other things? like say one imp f accent has flowers on the neck, and you're making (or comming) an accent for an impf that involves flowers and you happen to like the idea of them on the neck, can you still do that if you don't do it in the same way and same style as another person, or is doing it at all verboten?

Nothing wrong with that at all, if you like flowers on the neck then put flowers on the neck! Tons of skins have things placed in the same places, if it's not traced or like exactly copied then you should be fine because there's only so much space on a dragon base to put things in the first place

how many accents have flowers along an imperial females neck? i'm not being an asshole, seriously think about it.

go through the entire imperial f - neck flower accent archive and find instances of tracing and brazen copy-pasting. how many artists have asked for support only to be ignored because they weren't popular enough or you guys didn't like them at that time?

haha yo whhaaaat? I second on the whole Pest thing. other than her public freakout about buying an overpriced, scalped skin when the original artist came back on the site the next day to sell more copies....I did not know how the gradient thing.
