'Addressing OOF support' doesn't inherently mean nerfing it. If the points a dragon gave were based on what element it last spent n days in, then the big flights would benefit - they're now getting earth/fire/water's dom points multiplier for the dragon instead of their own low one.

Finding a way of balancing that would be hard as hell, because boarding etc, but anything else is either a blanket solution that makes things harder for everyone or trying to affect player culture... which is a convoluted nightmare.

I might be de-anonning myself, but it makes me laugh that everyone's talking about earth's aesthetic being the reason they've lasted so much longer than other flights as the dom top dog, because when I came up with it a couple years back it was not a popular theory.

(pre-emptive edit - not saying I'm the only one that came up with it on their own, but I'd never seen it raised before I did)

Can't comment on the lack of grinding etc, but 4-point food is the cheapest because you can only sort by unit price rather than price per fp, and most people level in the mire. People set 4 fp per item, check the price, and undercut a bit... forever.

From what I’ve heard, Ava used the wrong password too many times (from auto fill or something) and that’s what she thinks caused the error. No idea if there’s any truth to that but someone can test it out and see?

Based on what I’ve heard/seen of Ava she gives me major boomer vibes, I think she probably did think she was temp suspended. It’s a bit of a stretch to equate this to malice, imo it’s most likely her having a boomer moment or just wanting attention.

Well, I'd have assumed the same, except an admin and others have said that's not one of the default error messages. I'm not wasting my time getting locked out of my account to prove or disprove it.

But considering the attempt to clarify mouse admin made, if that was a too many incorrect password entry lockout, wouldn't he have said so? He said it's not one of their errors.

It's not just the Mire, but all the popular leveling places that give 4 point foods. Ghostlight, Harpy's Roost, I think Kelp Beds gives a mix of 4 and 5 points. Nearly everybody who does a lot of coli grinding has extra food in the 4 point category.

food is usually most expensive right before fests, and cheapest right after them. most people dont farm a ton when there isnt an extra incentive, like elemental fest drops or coli food fest drops.

Haha idk if I'm reading your idea right but the meta if the dragon's worth was based on who owned it before the exalter would be such chaos!

Earth boarders get dragons sent to them instantly upon signing up. Fire's merc company actually gets business. OOF boarding now is super important for big flights and way less useful for small ones which means Shadow would still be screwed for IvS.

I don't think it's a "fix" but god would it be funny. I'm into it.

damn, that is baffling then. why change a message like that? I'm struggling to understand why someone would be so desperate for attention. Because you can't seriously think that people will stop doing OOF things because of that, at best you just get a "hey heads up be careful" message sent out to dom folks (which seems to be what happened).

I'm in Lightning and am about at the end of my rope. I had been feeling hopeful about our dom because after the last drama we got a bunch of new leads who seem on top of things and fun (shoutout to kywren, comicsans, and ern), but what's the point if Ava/Rowan/the rest of the old guard are just going to continue to cause problems? And from what I know/what I've seen of how Ava and Rowan in particular act, there's no way they'll accept responsibility and step down unless their accounts get locked.

is there any more context to ava posting this? im not active in many dom discords so the only thing ive seen so far is the (edited) login screenshot, then people here saying ava was the one sharing this. are there any other screenshots of them discussing this ""suspension"" screenshot, and what discord(s) was it in?

I meant a negative quadratic function where the mean is at zero. So only the positive side of the quadratic function would apply, since flighs only have positive numbers :)

Will probably mean some build tweaking, but personally IDGAF, bring it on. Just in time for RoR! (Although it probably won't be quite as Plague-heavy/optimal for that, but still.)

I see you, but I am reasonably sure that the shift in dom culture happened way after Mercs became a thing. As in: my flight's Merc group was created in '15 according to the forum thread. I joined in '17. Dom culture shifted (from what I can tell) radically after hibden was released. That was in 18?

So that makes it at least three years after Mercs became a thing. Granted, I didn't experience the ~before times~ but honestly? Dom rn is a far cry from what Dom was when I joined. And tbh Mercs usually are not the ones who empty out their hibden. Hibdens get emptied into PBs and Raffles. Mercs train during the week and are thus, just like back then, limited by how many levels they can pump out during the battle.
