According to Discord on the g1 server, they said suspected multiaccounting. They contacted staff about gem purchase issues with their paypal account email that supposedly has a different account than the one they got gems on attached to it.

I use a different email for Paypal than the one I signed up for FR on and I've never had a problem buying gems through it so I suspect that's bullshit.

No, it's not just that they used a different email. That's fine. The implication is that there's a Flightrising account attached to their paypal email as well as their main account. Which is potentially less fine.

Basically as I understand from what I read-

Email 1 - Hemophobia account email.

Email 2 - Their personal email account with PayPal attached, that also has a second FR account, according to staff, found in payment issue dispute.

Both emails are theirs.

Since I don't really know the intricacies of Paypal and FR relationship, can't someone buy gems for someone else on FR and so two FR accounts would be attached to one Paypal account?

you can't buy gems for someone else (the gems will always go to you first and you have to send them to your friend). if you go to buy gems it sends you to PayPal checkout and there's nowhere to specify that the gems would go to someone else. so if a PayPal account is attached to two FR accounts, it means that the person has access to both accounts.

i guess people could run into trouble if for example a family member buys gems for a child or spouse or whatever with their own credit card or PayPal account. hopefully staff uses other clues to conclusively decide that someone is multiaccounting.

i thought they gave people lightning sprites because there was downtime during the fest? i wasn't around for it, but my understanding was always that lightning sprites were a little cheaper bc of that. i could be wrong though!

That sounds about right. Way back when I bought mine, the fire sprite was 7k gems and the lightning was 2.5k, so they seem to be in the same proportion now.

Seconding this. I was also there; sprockets were the giveaway, and for that reason, I suppose more people could afford to hoard lightning sprites. It wasn't exactly fun or easy back then to grind for fest currency on the first year, especially since no one was able to have hoarded it beforehand.

Yeah having your paypal account attached to different user than your own is sus but it would suck if you were locked because your kid wanted you to buy gems.

They also vastly underpay brewers and people selling eggs if you want to add onto why Mahogi sucks™

Yeah, I am pretty sure that it had little if not nothing to do with the paypal.

I am pretty sure my sister allowed me to use her paypal account to buy gems on my account, and she used the same account to buy gems on HER account and neither of us were locked.
