It is weird but I think this anon is spiraling. I don't think they're intentionally being careless, the stream-of-consciousness type comment reads like they're gonna have a panic attack or something.

Hope they're okay. This is a bit of a wake up call for me to maybe stop reading these sites because they're right about one thing... they DO get toxic real fast. I know I don't need this kind of negativity over FR, which should be a source of joy in my life.

Yeah, I can see where you’re coming from. Admittedly I feel I was a little harsh but as with any drama site tensions tend to run high especially ‘round sensitive topics.

You must be new here. Folks are salty and mean, it's how AR works- but no one knows who's who, save for me and

vasemod. It's not personal. This is actually pretty tame, considering how some threads have been in the past.

If you're NOT trying to guilt trip (which honestly, is gross as hell if you are), please step away from the computer. Close this tab, don't come back. I am not saying this to be mean, I am saying this for your own well being. An anonymous salt site about pixel dragons is not worth self harming.

Me, coming back to the page after literally only 1-2 hours:

If they have a rule the IDs must be censored, then I’ll admit I misunderstood the issue based off what I’d seen here and on SMR - I’m not in the server. I saw Dakkokki call censoring it the ‘bare minimum’, which came off as having a very lax attitude about it to me. Censoring identifying information shouldn’t be a minimum, it should be the only acceptable method.

If that’s not the case however and they are required to be censored, then I guess it’s not as risky. I don’t really participate in 18+ communities on discord, so I didn’t know it was a common age verification method. That said, I still find it to be odd given how easily that can be faked and still think people should be a bit more choosy when giving out any information like this. Not everyone is that diligent about hiding sensitive information, and even DOB can be enough if they can pry other information out of you.

But ultimately adults can make their own decisions and take what risks they want 🤷‍♀️ Maybe I’m just overly cautious.

You guys know dreamwidth logs IP addresses and that's how this place moderates, using those IP addresses. If you're all really worried about being doxxed by a random I hope you're using a VPN to post in here because an IP address can give so much more info and the mods/admin here are much more 'some rando' than this discord server

Except IPs can be the same across large swathes of cities, and doesn't tie back to one person in particular. I do agree that VPNs are a great privacy tool and people should use them.

They can be but not always! Many people have been doxxed and very much hurt because their IP Address was leaked. The same can be said about this discord situation.

And that's your decision as an adult I'm just very curious how many people who're name calling and getting concerned about a discord server asking for 90% censored IDs and a selfie are also aware of the fact that this site logs IPs.

Most if not all the regulars around here, I would wager. The mods bring it up every once in a while.

I think what got me is how you said it, since you used the shrug emoji and it appeared to look really smarmy, which to me, reads like I was being talked down to. It's a common thing to say "if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself!" but in this situation, I didn't find it to be all too possible, but hey, I can and would love to be proven wrong here. I didn't see it as a simple disagreement as you explained, I saw it like you had taken my opinion of the blog personally and belittled/deflected my opinion. After all, that's typically what the goal is when someone says "don't like it don't look!" from what I can recall. It feels dismissive.

Your 5th point confuses me still... Yes, the fact that I have to wade through it is my own issue because it is my own personal opinion regarding the posts. But... I wanted the salt. So I waded through it knowing I'd have to go through the shit posts. I don't get this all-or-none principle you've got going on where I have to not look at the blog entirely if I dislike how it's run. As well, me making a salt blog to get the salt without the shit is something that I already explained would probably have a hard time getting off the ground.

I think that's why I believed you didn't like me expressing my opinions on SMR. Because you came off rather offputting in response to me, I believed that's where you were going with it cause it really did read to me like "just dont follow lol".

I just don't get why you care whether I follow SMR or not or make a new salt blog or not if I dislike SMR's content. At first I thought maybe, "oh it was just a suggestion/them trying to help you", but the way you came off really didn't feel like that, so I don't get it. If I didn't want to look at the blog at all, I wouldn't. But I wanted the salt, so I dug. I can still complain about what I'm digging through though, so I did.

I hope you feel better soon though dude, your health is much more important than internet fights with randoms. I also think that if it upsets you this much, maybe a step away from the drama blogs is required, since I used to be addicted in the past and it really ate me up so I think I can get what you're feeling. That type of toxicity can kinda spread to you and take influence, y'know?

lmao what kind of fearmongering BS is this? I've had my IP leaked before (in a situation where I entirely deserved it, so not trying to play the victim or w/e here, tbc) and it was basically harmless, absolutely not comparable to doxxing
