I have to say, Night of the Nocturne was a genius idea from the devs. I never expected it would be such a huge addition to the site. I also had no idea that eggs would become so big or that people would be willing to pay so much. Even though so many eggs must get released from NotN alone, there are so many users willing to pay $3 regularly for the chance to hach an egg. It boggles the mind.

it's never been like this with the eggs though, i don't know where it's coming from but everyone wants the eggs with a passion that i've never seen. even people who have never even cared about eggs desperately want eggs. 0_0 i agree with you nonny, it boggles the mind!

the eggs are like lootboxes, but way more harmless, that is why we humans like to gamble/open random blindboxes, every egg is exciting and gives that instant gratification

Ngl, I'm really glad the notion of hatching them has always had zero appeal for me. If you're hatching to sell, ~99% chance you're not going to get anything worth more than the egg itself, and to even get some profit back from okayish hatches you have to scry and advertise and ugh.

As for keeping them myself, I know dang well my opinion would always be like what it is when I snipe a pretty fodderg - 'Hmm, I kinda like this, but one color is just a shade off from perfect/wrong element/etc.' And what I do in those situations is launch breeding projects to get the perfect dragon. Which obviously would defeat the entire point of G1-ing.

I've mostly given up on hatching eggs. Maybe once in a blue moon, but easier to buy a pretty from someone else's hatches than hatch my own.

i remember when eggs used to go for ~80kT onsite. even then i thought it was an expensive item (or maybe i was just a noob lol) but i'm surprised that egg prices have stabilized around ~300kT for the past few years. i assume its the growing popularity of g1 collectors and hatching enthusiasts who are itching for expensive doubles and triples to sell. in any case its great on my wallet lmao

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of eggs purchased are just investments, and it's like 0.01% of the playerbase that actually buys in large quantities to open.

SA, but unrelated: I was going through my old FR tumblr the other day though, and I ran into the old hysterical "WOW BUT NOTN IS A ONE-TIME-A-YEAR THING, NOCTURNES WILL BE MILLIONS OF TREASURE FOREVER SINCE THEY'RE A LIMITED TIME THING!!!" posts from the first year, and I'm still laughing at how poorly those aged. definitely not residually salty salty that those idiots didn't listen to any of the rest of us telling them they'd be the next imps where they're fodder like anything else after a week or three, nooo...

Same here, especially with so many more ways to get chests (ergo more eggs) this year. But I was worried after the Dustcarve eggs that prices wouldn't rebound enough for me to sell off last NotN's investments before this one arrived, and I did move them all in time.

There are constantly people doing mass hatches through the year to eat nocturne eggs. And not everyone is hoarding. Some people are hatching every egg they get immediately and yeeting what they don't like.

hatched a primal g1 (whoo!) but the tert is fucking awful. do you think it's worth scattering until i get matching colors? how much do eyes really matter in a g1 project?

Agreed with the other anons, probably cheaper to primal vial an already-cute g1 (500kt but guaranteed result) than sink [350g x ?] on your hatch until you get a combo that's A) good and B) works with the element.

Then again, g1 projects in general are all about personal fun and satisfaction. If you would most enjoy working on making your lucky hatch the best dragon it can be, I'm not going to tell you you're FR-ing wrong.
