I was with them until the last paragraph.

I have a condition where I sometimes literally can't sit up without ridiculous vertigo and greying out bc my blood pressure doesn't regulate right. I often rely on meal replacement bars, liquid IV, gatorade and things I can eat in bed when I can't get up. Liquid IV doesn't have protein, so I'm actually kind of "!!" about this bc I didn't know about it.

But I still think they went way too far- I could use that, but still found the joke funny.

I don't get why people are so upset over this. I think FR has one of the fairest IRL money transaction systems that I know of. I really fail to see what other game has a better system than this.

Sure, the items are cycling but if you missed out on them then you can always wait for later. There is nothing gem-related in FR that is permanently retired.

They are not cycling, so waiting for later is not an acceptable option - "cycles" imply regularity. Seasonal winds cycle, wait 9 months and you got your stuff. Pirate gear, Notn stuff cycles, wait a year and here's your stuff. This? A couple of random days maybe once a year, maybe every two months, maybe once in three years.

honestly id consider fest items retiring to be a FOMO tactic as well and its one of the most prominent features of the site. imo items being cycled is better than them being permanently retired, in terms of FOMO.

and big agree that FR's premium currency system is one of the best. the fact that you have many (viable!) venues to get premium currency as a non-paying user is seriously incredible compared to most other games.

Hard agree on the currency system being one of the best. You can earn them through chests, sell stuff to players, or buy them from other players with treasure. You don't need to buy them with cash. Buying with cash is just a way to quickly grab some if you can afford to.

anyone have thoughts/concerns/comments over this? my immediate thought was scam-ability aka how easily it would be for them to take the money and run or them getting locked and people who bought into it losing out.

Sadly as someone from Arcane who has seen Jazilee throw shitfits before in public spaces, this does not surprise me. Just hope they learn just how fucking out of touch they are. But considering this is also the person who helps runs a thread where they rip off newbies for Level 25s with battlestones (except Rally, you pay extra for that), I'm not expecting they learn anytime soon.

Is 2000 gems that hard to acquire for most players? I feel like if you can't buy a full Wildclaw scroll then you just...should not invest in a partial one either?

For players that aren't artists, selling a hoard of high value old items, or seriously into fodder sales, it actually is.

Yes. Whether their play style is too casual to afford it, or their impulsive desires prevent them from properly saving up for it...having 2000 gems is pretty hard for a lot of people, lol.
