I just recently saw some screenshots about this (I had been ignoring it before thinking it had been blown out of proportion) but... I definitely now agree with everyone being mystified.

the seller is complaining that they 'lost' money on that dragon, and is, from what I have seen, basically melting down over not getting at least what 'every other XX white gen1 has gone for' and I am like, well, don't set the starting bid that low then.

I always make it a point to at the very least mention a low price I would consider. If I say 'make me an offer' I usually mean, make me an offer, 1 treasure will get it. I hope that I get reasonable offers, but if I don't get them, and I don't mention that there is a lower limit (or mention that I want 'reasonable' offers) then I absolutely will sell for 1 treasure if that is what someone offers, because it is on ME for not mentioning I had a minimum price in mind.

Bottom line: and sorry for yelling: DO NOT SET THE STARTING BID BELOW WHAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE SELLING AT.

lol what? i'm not undercutting myself, i lit only relist at lower prices if everyone else keeps listing around that price point. aka other folks undercutting. is it... confusing cuz i leave my higher price listings to expire out?

This happens to me too. People will undercut me so I undercut them. What happens sometimes though is those people have blocked me / others who don't see their listings anymore, and it just appears as though I've undercut myself.

so weird to me how people keep putting aspects of things into boxes. as if no one in Earth is able to pick up a brush. Steampunk is a different thing than "the concept of creating art" of course but... what. just what.

You straight up said that Earth shouldn't have 'steampunk' festival apparel which is normally a Lightning concept, and you wanted the apparel to be rocks or excavation tools. I don't personally blame you for it, but ayrt is pointing out that flights do have overlappage. They said that your comment reminded them of someone else saying something with a similar mindset of limiting the concepts of each flight into boxes which quite frankly is pretty boring to a number of people.

See, I can agree with you when it's worded like this. Anon above was being weirdly condescending and rude when they accused people of shoving flights into boxes. I personally prefer the excavation aesthetic of Earth, and I'm not happy about having to wait another year to maybe, just MAYBE get a good-looking set of apparel that aligns with my earth rep's aesthetics.

I think part of the reason why the one who replied to you went on the tangent, is that this is something that does happen a fair bit.

People complain about the fest apparel for a specific festival is 'boring' or 'all the same' and 'flights have different colors/minor aesthetics, don't you know'. Then when staff DOES do something different, people start complaining (and I know these are different people) that 'it isn't XFlight's aesthetic!'.

I also want to ask, does the apparel HAVE to be earth flight festival apparel? Because we are getting ARlo at some point, and I feel that that would be a great opportunity for excavation apparel (I don't know if we will get it, but hopefully), so you might not have to wait an entire year (assuming Arlo does come out this year) for apparel that would look good for your Earth Rep.
