I have in my profile that I don't want to interact with minors, save for basic things like trading, sales, but had a 13 y/o try to strike up a conversation about RP that had some rather dark subject matter, so I told them to try again in five years, and blocked them.

I don't usually go in for Roundsey dragons, but it does tickle me that this week's dragon is Chocolate/Pumpkin/Caramel. It's a pumpkin spice dragon!

it's such a pretty dragon, insane. even outside of the pumpkin spice aesthetic, more like bazar and desert stuff.

It was deleted, but from context, I'm guessing they were upset over the term "Malewife" which... like... I can get how someone can not understand the term immediately, but if they take like... 5 seconds to look at examples of what folks call a Malewife, they'll see it's not a transphobic moniker.

I mean, my fav example of a malewife is fucking HANNIBAL LECTER (from the show, not the films). He's domesticated as fuck, with some serious nesting/paternal instincts (albeit fucked up ones) but is still masculine as all get out. It's literally an endearing/funny/alternative name for Househusband. (Also, malewife, in my experience, tends to be given to a masc partner who can be utterly soft or practically become a fuckin himbo when around their families.)

(My partner is masc nonbinary and was the one who gave birth to our kid, and loathes the term wife/mom etc, but isn't entirely okay with husband, either. They LOVE the term malewife for themselves.)

It never occurred to me that something soft and silly like 'malewife' could be taken so seriously and seen as derogatory. You learn something new everyday..

Nope, I've only got pinged by them 3 times in the last 12 days, which I guess is an okay amount since they do a lot of skins/accents. They also seem to concentrate all their skins/accents for preorder in a single post, thankfully.

Hemophobia also seems to be pinging less lately.

But, I'm only in the GASP (with a few entries) and Gen 1 Hoarders pinglist, so I can't tell much outside that.

Also my first time hearing it, and I'm kind of cringing too, but for personal-damage reasons. I'm uncomfortable with metrosexuals too, for crying out loud - basically anything that says 'This here is a guy doing girliness right, go him' makes my brain jump right to 'Lol, and here we have a cis female who can't even do girliness right'.

ngl i have a pretty large hateboner for the term, because i've primarily seen it used alongside implications that the "malewife" is usually the submissive partner and im sick to death of both "domesticity = female" and "feminine = submissive." and it reminds me of when people act like bottom and submissive (or top and dominant) are inherently the same thing, which i also hate.

but i also recognize that gender is fucky and people personally resonate with all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons, none of which they owe me or anyone else explanations for

And a general information heads up or reminder (whichever applies): Festivals and our anniversary are the only events we allow for weekend starts. Launches for releases like breeds or features is an all-hands situation. We're not going to call the team in on a Sunday for that. Or a Friday, for that matter. /shudder "

I remember the staff stating at some point that they don't believe in the whole "crunch culture" bs so it makes sense that weekends are typically out of bounds for their team which is pretty cool

They've mentioned it often through announcement posts as refreshers. Dustcarve Dig + Dev Update: Dragon Breed Development are the ones that come to mind. I'm glad they avoid crunching too. Sudden crunch time is horrible for any kind of project!
