As a result, THEY ARE  NOT ALLOWED. This site is for DRAGON DRAMA, not your Pro/Anti shipping bullshit. Take it to fandomwank or fandom_secrets or whatever other platform they're using nowadays.

i know the whole point of ancient breeds is for them to not wear clothes because of their line breaking genes and the insane backlog of clothing items that hold up any and all new breeds but...i really wish i could put clothes on them. even just like...SOME clothes. like the festival apparel or something. i have a couple dragons that i love but it feels like theyre missing something

even if we couldnt clothe them i wish the apparel thats just like floaty stuff was wearable on ancient breeds - flowerfalls, the seasonal winds, some of the fest stuff like the orb and the will o wisp

i understand why admins went with an all/nothing approach but every time i look at my nakey gaoler i get a little sad

I 100% agree! I love veils so much and I feel like floaty apparel (flowerfalls, seasons apparel, etc.) could be slapped on really quickly

Saaaame, I wish we could add the floating apparel like the meteor, the flowerfalls, the seasonal things but I feel like that would open the flood gates of "Why can we do this but not that???" with the userbase

In fairness I do see why it'd be a problem. The flowerfalls or the seasonal apparel for example would be perfectly fine, since those don't care for the dragon's outline at all, but something like the Companion Comet or the Gloomwillow Guide for example would cause uproar, and for good reason. It WOULD be unfair if some flights could have festival apparel on their ancients but not others, and not all flights have had a floating copypaste festival apparel. (Which staff seems to not wanna do anymore, after being accused of laziness.)

But I agree that letting us equip this floating apparel but not that one would lead to a lot of drama and yelling.

So as sad as it is, I think not allowing any apparel at all was good in the end.

I have never understood this 'if you give a mouse a cookie...' logic re: things like this.

Yes, if FR releases X, people will immediately ask for X+1. A good example is ancient genes getting ported to moderns, we got Mosaic/Breakup and most of the responses were "[Other ancient gene] should be next!"

...so? As long as the suggestions are polite, who cares? It's not like the userbase has the capacity to break into the staff's houses and hold their goldfish hostage if they don't adapt the halos or whatever.

Start with the easiest stuff (flowerfalls and winds, which are literally the same across many modern poses already, and invisibility cloaks and ENC for utility). Eventually trickle in slightly more involved things like lanterns, candles, emblems and standards - yes, maybe even prioritize what there's a lot of community feedback for.

Pets are iffy (some would be easy to adapt, others less so) and I see the points about flights crying discrimination if they don't have any specific floaty apparel, so an all-or-nothing philosophy unfortunately makes more sense there, but if the main rationale behind never getting even the most basic copy/paste stuff on ancients is really "you must be firm about telling children no or they'll never learn to behave", that's pretty petty.

Noooooo. FML I am so tired of people asking for ancients to be given the ability to wear apparel. It's not going to happen to stop. Please. For the love of all things good in the world STOP.

Oh man I likewise wish that since genes can break the silhouette on these two, that we could make skin types that would be titled "custom apparel" where it's basically a skin but it can also break the silhouette. Like, the whole "skins cannot go outside the dragon" thing has always been such bs anyway...
