pet site items are a lot less worth out of context than the money they would be worth if you'd take the on-site value and just convert it 1:1 to rlc
i'm a freelance artist and if someone would pay me KS stuff for art i'd ask for a whole set or at least three because then the rlc conversion would someeeeewhat equal to my rates. is someone, anyone gonna do that? nah.
i guess in the context of fursuits - a skycat won't pay the costs for fake fur.

What would you base your rlc conversion on? A whole set seems like it would fetch a lot on the black market.

Also, for some reason I didn't even factor that a fursuit has the cost of materials too. Yea if someone took a fursuit commission for purely virtual goods/currency they'd actually be out rlc... I'd at least pay for the cost of materials in rlc tbh.

i just treated the conversion with FR's usual one, 1 gem is 1 usd, basically the "casual" way.
my rates for non-commercial fullbodies usually start in the 300's (euro though, not usd). would someone really want to pay me 3-4 ks items for an artwork? highly doubting it. but meanwhile 1 ks item for an artwork sounds like I'd be selling myself short (or rather my time), yet it would be a lot more acceptable from the onsite worth of the ks item.
like if I was actively still very focused on FR and had not much freelance work to do anyway, I'd consider looking for 1 ks equals 1 artwhatever, but my schedule is tight and I know other ways to spend my time to gain money or worth that isn't a winged pixel cat.
does that make sense? it's just difficult to find artists actually looking for petsite goods as payment that aren't 16 year olds making pencil doodles on the forums. not to shit on those of course, I think a lot of artists on FR are selling themselves short, but 2000 gems sounds like a lot more than 20 USD and there's still the level of quality one wants for their cash whether RL or ingame. just who pays what and who wants what.

not to encourage you to break FR's TOS, but you'd probably have better luck selling your KS stuff on the black market and using the USD you get from that. altho I wouldn't want to risk it myself, since staff knows about the site, I think other-anon is right about it being difficult to find someone who would be willing to take most of their payment in dragon game pixels.

good luck tho nonny! may your fursuit dreams come true! a friend of mine is getting their first suit later this year; they're super excited about it and I am living vicariously through them lol

tbh I have no idea! I'm just not into FR that much anymore (can't rly collect anything due to no rare items ever coming out anymore) so I just thought I'd.. offer it for sumn. Even art maybe idk.. thank you tho!

If you're not breaking TOS you'd have to find a fursuit maker who'd be willing to essentially give up money out of their own pocket for physical materials and trade it for a bunch of pixels for a petsite that doesn't allow you to sell such items for RL currency to begin with. I'm sure people like that are out there but that's one hell of a search that might take a while since the FR userbase isn't thhaaaat big, especially not for the fursuit maker kind that'd be interested in those items. If you are planning on going against TOS then good luck finding people to buy your KS apparel for a reasonable rate and price so you can buy your (expensive) suit!
