*These subjects almost inevitably bring up Anti/Proship bullshit and there are folks on both sides who might be triggered by certain content, or feel dismissed by various argument points on both sides. As a result, THEY ARE  NOT ALLOWED. This site is for DRAGON DRAMA, not your Pro/Anti shipping bullshit. Take it to fandomwank or fandom_secrets or whatever other platform they're using nowadays.

Artist who refused to refund my commission from November and blocked me when I started asking for my comm/gems back. Gonna show my username in screenshots/links, sorry!

Crossroads accepted on November 12, 2020 (see imgur album, image 2). After a month I sent the artist a PM asking about the comm status (image 3). The artist responded in the beginning of January saying they hadn't got my message (image 4). We had a pleasant back-and-forth and they said it would be finished in a day or two. After that I had no further responses or communication with them. I sent PMs on Feb 2, 5, and 26 (images 8, 9, & 10).

They have continued to make art threads throughout the whole issue. Current thread here (https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/art/2979655), previous NOTN thread here (https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/art/2949056/1), others have popped up but have been deleted before I was able to screencap them. Screenshots provided in album as wayback machine wasn't working for me.

Just wanted to warn people of getting art from them. I'm happy to provide any other info I can.

Wow, that is genuinely scummy, yeah. The very least they should've done is give you a refund. Like even if they're stressed, I get that, but when they can't even give you a "sorry I just can't finish it, here's your gems back" .... They really shouldn't be running art sales at all at that point.

Kinda wonder whether you could report them for scamming to FR, tbh.

Now, as an artist, sometimes I take a while on art because I have MAJOR ADHD/Executive Dysfunction, but I have that listed in my ToS- that to have art done by a deadline, it costs extra. I'm not gonna take like... a year to do the art, but it won't be an immediate turn-around, especially for a full body piece. (My avg turn around is 1-2 months for full body that's shaded.)

HOWEVER: I ALWAYS update my customer. Sketches, flats, etc, with updates on what's going on. It's also my way of letting them see what I've done, and gives them the chance to say "Oh, that (small) detail is wrong, can you change that?"

If I have something come up that has me taking longer than 2 months, I WILL let them know. Also, I do NOT spend the money I've been paid until it's done. (Or I hit a 50% mark, and I will pull 50% of the payment, again- it's in my ToS that once I ink the lines, 50% payment is nonrefundable.)

They didn't keep in touch, didn't update, your piece was still listed as a sketch, and are taking new commissions?

Seems like they just weren't wanting to draw your character, or weren't feeling it- but had already spent the gems you sent, which is shady bc their post says they don't accept until they're done with the art....

Sounds to me like they're ignoring you and either:

A- trying to make the gems they already spent in order to refund you

B- quickly doing your piece

and then just play it off as "Oh I totally sent you the art/a message, looks like FR goofed lol"

Honestly? If I were you? Don't give them the chance. Just report them for scamming. It's bullshit, what they're doing.

Honestly, I'd report them on the site for scamming at this point and see what happens

Sent in a report I think on Saturday? I haven't gotten anything from support but the ticket is there. Not sure what they can do but it's worth a shot!

Worst case is, they can do nothing and you're in the same position you were in already. You have nothing to lose by reporting it.

they don't resolve tickets in "first in, first out" order (they go by order of severity instead) so depending on what the other tickets in their queue are about it could take weeks or months

sorry nonny, public shaming might be your best recourse here
