*These subjects almost inevitably bring up Anti/Proship bullshit and there are folks on both sides who might be triggered by certain content, or feel dismissed by various argument points on both sides. As a result, THEY ARE  NOT ALLOWED. This site is for DRAGON DRAMA, not your Pro/Anti shipping bullshit. Take it to fandomwank or fandom_secrets or whatever other platform they're using nowadays.

I'm the anon who posted the other day that I'd been meh on the prospect since it was announced but that a recent admin post had slightly raised my hopes that this update would involve something to actually do.

So...yep, also underwhelmed. Not going to actually gripe because the team clearly put a lot of thought and effort into it and I'm seeing a lot of enjoyment here and otherwise, but from my perspective a few minutes clicking around the new art and lore and then back to FR life as normal wherein the world map might as well not exist because there's no reason to visit doesn't seem like an update of real magnitude. New den tasks being introduced was much more exciting.

So I agree that this wasn't very exciting but I am also confused about what, specifically, people expected to be able to do with the map being released.

Same tbh, the devs stated it would be a visual overhaul of the map and that we can move our lair locations, noting more.

Now with the new map here, there is a ton of potential they can do with it, like change it if major events happen in the lore etc. see luminax roaming around

Also I am pretty sure the Sactums will play a pretty big role in the future in the lore and the map will reflect that if something happens with them.
