Love is in the Air....

(Source- and additional Valentine's here!)

Edit: I have updated the rules:

ADDENDUM TO RULE THREE (3): Because I do NOT want another instance of shit that happened this month, and the shit that happened in @anonrising, Fandom Politics are NOT ALLOWED. This includes, but is not limited to:
  •          Anime
  •          Fanfiction/Fanart
  •         Anti/Proshipping war bullshit
*These subjects almost inevitably bring up Anti/Proship bullshit and there are folks on both sides who might be triggered by certain content, or feel dismissed by various argument points on both sides. As a result, THEY ARE  NOT ALLOWED. This site is for DRAGON DRAMA, not your Pro/Anti shipping bullshit. Take it to fandomwank or fandom_secrets or whatever other platform they're using nowadays.

I have confidence in myself but when I view myself externally e.g. videos, I find the way I behave and my facial expressions very awkward.

On the inside I feel assertive and I'm not bothered by the fact that I have a resting bitch face, but from the outside, my movements are weird (long af limbs), my smile is unsettling and I cringe at myself.

Actually seeing myself depletes my self-esteem. I don't wanna pretend that's not happening, cause that's genuinely how others see me, and it's very different to what I perceive of myself.

How do?

It probably isn't how others see you, honestly. I notice your comment doesn't mention anybody else actually saying these things about you. Is anyone telling you that you move weird and have a creepy smile, or is that your own assessment?

I have this problem too, I hate listening to recordings of myself because I think my voice and movements are really annoying. But the people who interact with me never seem bothered, even strangers or jerks who have no particular reason to hold back from criticizing me. It's common to have a blind spot or disconnect when it comes to how we think other people perceive us. Unless they're actually picking on you, it's likely that you fall within their parameters for "normal" and they're not worrying about it.

I occasionally have commentated video game races on Twitch... I can't watch those races myself after because I think I'm awful. Everyone tells me I did fine.

It takes a special kind of practice to look at yourself impartially on recordings video or audio.

if it helps, camera lenses do not match 1:1 what human eyes see

and photo

charisma and confidence, which add attractiveness and likeability, don't come across very well virtually, but they do in person
