Love is in the Air....

(Source- and additional Valentine's here!)

Edit: I have updated the rules:

ADDENDUM TO RULE THREE (3): Because I do NOT want another instance of shit that happened this month, and the shit that happened in @anonrising, Fandom Politics are NOT ALLOWED. This includes, but is not limited to:
  •          Anime
  •          Fanfiction/Fanart
  •         Anti/Proshipping war bullshit
*These subjects almost inevitably bring up Anti/Proship bullshit and there are folks on both sides who might be triggered by certain content, or feel dismissed by various argument points on both sides. As a result, THEY ARE  NOT ALLOWED. This site is for DRAGON DRAMA, not your Pro/Anti shipping bullshit. Take it to fandomwank or fandom_secrets or whatever other platform they're using nowadays.

Ugh I hate how hard it is to lose weight. I am trying to lose some pounds but really can't seem to do it.

Keep trying! It's not easy but it's worth it.

Can I suggest an app called BodBot? I'm using it to gain muscle and I've found it's really responsive and customizable - you can tell it what you're trying to do, when and how long you can exercise, whether you're at home or can access a gym, and during workouts it will ask how difficult an exercise was and then increase or decrease the difficulty literally as you go. A lot of the workouts are things I've never heard of before and if you tell it you're at home all you need is your own body and a wall and floor.

Good luck anon, you can do it.

I feel you. I had an app I was using for a while, that tracked calories and what not, but I found it overestimated how many calories was burning with exercise + tbh my brain is just Bad. One of my docs things that I might have sleep apnea, which could be why I have trouble with everything - I don't get any adrenaline/good hormones from exercise, and I get hungry throughout the day because I didn't get enough sleep?

IDK, I want to believe it could be this easy but... You know?

Anyway, good luck. :)

your doc might be onto something, i remember reading that one of the consequences of not sleeping enough is excess of cortisol, the stress hormone, which can lead to weight gain if the lack of sleep is chronic

That plus a lack of sleep = a lack of energy = overeating to try and get that back, iirc.

I was supposed to do a sleep test before covid, but it's been pushed out. Knock wood.

If you just want to lose a couple of pounds, I had success with simple diet change - I don't mean eating less, I mean changing up what you eat and when. For example, apparently a lot of wealthier people (especially in the western countries) eat too much meat, so I adjusted that I eat meat-based dinner only two-three times a week, other days are fish or meatless dinners. And since I still eat what I want, just from particular categories, it's easier to keep doing that. Then I added some more changes that affect me personally (for example, I always felt off after too greasy meals). Over couple of months of keeping to that 'diet' I noticed I went down a couple of pounds, to what I have to assume is my 'baseline' weight. I never had success with any of those aggressive weight-loss programs either.
