App games also require actual games, not only dragon collectibles, so I imagine FR as an app would be only interesting for those who are already playing. IMO the importance of apps is a lot of times blown out of proportion as if the mere existence of it will fix all FR's issues with repetitiveness, start producing meaningful updates and also will fertilize all of your crops at the tap of a screen.

In 10 years I'd see FR as, how to put it, 'classic online tamagotchi' where there is a reasonably sized player base that is either stable or growing but as there's little to actually do, the average player spends only a couple of minutes online each day and doesn't directly interact with other users.
