Is it Lightning or Arcane? They're known to do weird dom testing.

That aside- could be lore!

....I say this because I do the same thing sometimes- buy an adult dragon which might seem random, but is from a flight/has a trait/is a breed that is necessary for lore reasons.

That dragon usually isn't exalted, but murdered, eaten or used in experiments by my mad scientists.
