frankly this game has a bit devolved into familiar-rising, i would like to have a new dragon breed for change, yes i know its complicated and takes time and shit but oh boi having a familiar dump concealed as an "update" is boring

they kinda trapped themselves with the way breeds and apparel work, each new breed is going to have more and more artwork in the backlog, and it's not like they can stop releasing new apparel

Honestly I don't think the complicated argument really holds up here. They have two dragons that should be near completion at this point, the ancient one promised to release during 2020. It's a bit frustrating the lack of updates we've been given about them being done soon or not.

I know it took me long for it, but with the last Flameforgers I totally believe the "Staff deliberately choses not the qualitatively well made skins to win, but those that are a little worse, so the better ones can get printed by the artist and make more money"-theory.
best example is that F Banescale accent. A ton of amazing ones in the thread, but staff choses the badly drawn one that adds daggers to the waist of your armless dragons and adds clothing despite "we are less likely to chose drawn clothing accents"

Oh they've completely forgotten about their own rules and preferences for festival entries. It's more like flavour text now tbh.
Once they even broke their own "at least 5% coverage" rule.

They should just remove that paragraph and give user all the freedom if they don't mind rule breaks anyway.

remember that one skin winning for gala that had none of the original shading or lineart, and the skin image was also completely the wrong size so it was super broken on release and staff had to manually fix it twice, at least

and it's not even a good skin
