As someone studying nutrition science, I gotta say: diet is just as important as exercise! :D Make sure you're getting enough protein - for general health, protein should account for 15-25% of your daily calorie intake. It gets a bit more complicated if you want more precise figures: for trying to gain muscle, it's recommended to eat 1.2-1.7 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. But generally, if you're having roughly 2.5-3.5 serves of lean meat, poultry, fish, nuts, eggs, etc a day, you should be fine. Good sources of protein include lean meats, eggs, beans, tofu, lentils, etc. If you're vegetarian, make sure you have lots of different types of protein-foods (eg lentils at lunch, tofu and egg with dinner), because plant proteins (aside from soy) aren't complete. This means that they don't have the right ratios of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, that you're body needs.

(sorry for such a long post, it kinda got away from me...)

Whoops, sorry for the late reply!

Thank you both, yeah I'd read that protein/peanut butter/nuts/eggs were good for putting on weight, been trying to eat more of that but it's a slow process haha. Good to hear I'm on the right-ish track though!

I eat meat, eggs and rice pretty much everyday now. Absolutely stuffed full of e g g s lmao

(Also it's super cool that you're studying nutrition science, ;w; I've always wondered what that field is like~~)
