oh okay, makes sense i guess. it's still concerning to me that they were clearly friends with these people and somehow was only recently exposed to their bigotry but whatever

I considered myself to be close friends with these people too tho... didnt suspect a thing... until I was shown otherwise.

Sometimes it takes a while for people to show their true colours. I figure Rom went through the same experience.

it makes sense, actually

people typically have just enough self-awareness to keep awful thoughts secret unless they are sure that their audience will agree with them

if you give no indication that you think the same awful things, and they are not complete idiots, they will keep the hate to their thoughts until they find someone receptive
