FRD is so bizarre about flights not having any thematic or aesthetic overlap. That thread about Earth last week really exemplified it.

"I think Earth's aesthetic would be more interesting if they focused on gemstones and rock formations!"
"Ummm Arcane already has crystals and Lightning already has rock formations :/"

"I'd like to see more monuments and archaeological sites!"
"Ummm those are taken by Light :/"

yeah that is exactly what I read the last time that topic came up for me.
it's so incredibly boring and bad, and I absolutely hope staff never listens to this kind of people. then again I am the kind of person who hates elemental affinities and it's still wild to me that I am playing FR for years now despite hating its main theme.
the fact that Earth still has no desert themed stuff is still mind boggling to me (inb4 "but Lightning has a desert" from them)
scorched black sands and burned plants for fire
sahara like dunes for earth
hardangervidda but make it more stoney for Ice
so many ideas...

I just hate how easy it is to shove them into boxes, and makes them incredibly boring and bland. Goes for everything - Warcraft, Flight Rising, Atla, etc.
I've seen "the fire people have a forge" a hundred times and I cannot tell you how often I saw "wind\air people are cheerful with instruments and music and live on a mountain" before. So difficult to find media that uses elements, especially the four main ones, and not fulfill some boring stereotypes I already become bored of when I was 14 and wrote Super Cool Cringy Fantasy Stories with elemental main characters.

i hate that too

it could be a neat lore-opportunity to keep hinting at the similarities between flights (like how light has a dark ruins place and shadow had a scrying thing that the shadowbinder had to obscure, how plague and nature are both about thriving, etc.), like

every flight is all "must have supremacy" but i kinda see a sorta "separation is an illusion you fools" thing being the backbone of the main plot if there ever is one?
