There have been some pretty bad cases of people being banned for clear jokes - I think back to that person who got banned for making clearly a joke about mods needing to be destroyed or something? Either way if it was really not okay they could have just warned them.

But anyway in EoN's case I think it might be a case of whatever they made the topic about being the straw that broke the camel's back. They've made a lot, lot of questionable topics and general spammy stuff and I wouldn't be surprised if they had already been spoken to before about their behavior.

I do also feel kind of bad for them because they're clearly a child... at the same time other users their age don't act like this and people have been very kind trying to point out how certain things they post aren't okay and how they need to step away and learn how to conduct themselves. Didn't seem to help so I think they needed this ban to really understand that they need to change.

the admins probably have to keep a hard line on "murdering" them jokes that it does not get out of hand, while most people would just roll their eyes on the rainbow machine joke they have in those cases just to swing the banhammer
