I want to start collecting UMAs; are there any accent artists, current or past, that I should avoid buying from because of shady stuff? Other than Spassow, of course.

I don't remember a lot of names but Ursus is acephobic. necrophades doesn't seem to be around anymore but I remember something about him being creepy asshole to someone. His friends are also dicks.

besides that, well, Rhea is gone, easy to avoid that one. Avoid Pesticide maybe, despite being a site artist they are known for being very entitled.

Oh god, yeah, Pesticide is awful. Honestly shocked they're a site artist considering their shitty behavior.

staff doesn't seem to care apparently. pest does flashy, cartoony art and that is all that matters, not their personality or how the community sees them.

I still have no idea how they could chose them as a site artist.
a lot of the genes they make are lackluster and just bad (hello keel and firefly)
their portfolio shows an incredible lack of understanding of anatomy. yeah they can render pretty well, but I highly doubt they ever studied anatomy for real. their characters are just wonky and badly proportioned. while it works in some pieces, the more realistic ones instantly break apart because of the lack of anatomical knowledge.

though necrophades has been inactive for over a year now and all their accents are going to have to be bought secondhand, shrug

Personally i don't think Necro was that bad. They were an absolute sweetheart when they were active, they always helped out other people in the accent server and they even gave away a bunch of their g1's a couple of times to people. I was lucky enough to get one for completely free even though i offered to pay for her. Carnivore was just...afaik their only crime was gem related, but tbqh even that is hazy to me. But i dont really care as much as the other nonnies seem to about all this and in any case it's moot bc they aren't even active anymore.

if you are, were, friends with necro you were on their good side anyway. i know a couple people that got into a lot of trouble, even off-site bullying because of them, but of course i can't give deets without naming people that don't want to be named so who cares.

there was in the old AR such a good mockup I would loved that version of keel so much more
