Ice's discord is EXTREMELY fucking cliquey.

Another note: I got almost banned once because I asked why they had crow emojis instead of cats or dragon emojis, literally just asked as soon as I was "approved" to speak, they deleted my comment, and muted me indefinitely for being mean when all I asked was a question, so I left...

From what I've heard through the grapevine, if you can suck Squid or JBA's dick, you're instantly adored and immune to the rules also from what I've seen and accepted into the clique. Real cool server. Terrible human beings who want to rule ice flight with an iron fist and not even have the slightest chance of offending anybody for asking a question... Yes, I'm still salty.

reminds me of when i was in ice flight and one of their plans for dom was to secretly nullify tickets of people "caught" selling any of their dragons to other flights during a dom push (no, not "selling dragons meant for ice's dom push". selling ANY dragons to ANY OTHER FLIGHT)

this was back in the skype days, ANCIENT history that i'm still mildly salty over so i ain't got logs; the head dom organizer at the time was the one who harassed me, posted tumblr posts about me, etc though
it's the event that prompted me to leave ice (though i stayed for a while after because i couldnt let go out of spite, since they wanted me gone and i was being spiteful)
i believe the other dom heads were against it, though they only expressed that after i'd already posted about it on AR and DR to warn people after the dom head got shitty at me in skype chat

So I don't know anon's story specifically, but I think I remember the incident they're talking about. Some years back, Ice was in the middle of a dom battle (I think it was against Plague) when one of the dom leaders made a post about some rule changes. They were going to throw out the tickets to their in flight raffle of people they saw flipping dragons on the AH.

Keep in mind, this was in like 2015, before it got overhauled, so there was no way to buy or sell exclusively by flight on the AH. Every dragon listed was bought and sold publicly. The only way to check if someone was even in your flight was to manually look up their name in search. Yet someone in the dom team apparently thought it was worth going to that kind of trouble in the middle of a battle just in case some contributors to their raffle were also flipping fodder on the side.

The worst part was that when they pinged the list to announce this rule change, there was a newbie on there who had never been in the Ice flight forums. They had been flipping fodder though, which made people think the post was targeted at them. It was a mess. I don't think it was ever established who added that newbie's name to the pings, but with how pointlessly mean the rule change was in the first place, many suspected it was someone on the dom team. If so, that might explain why anon was harassed by a dom person. Could have been the exact same person.

Doesn't tserin just randomly have admin in ice server? This was a while back on the old anonrising.

Sad but not at all surprising to hear that the Ice leaders are like that. I always got the distinct impression they were pretty full of themselves and didn't like being challenged or questioned in any way.

Lmfao this is hilarious I had an experience with jbapple a few weeks ago and asked if I could help out with dom by flipping the ratio cos I saw someone else in another flight do it. He proceeded to be incredibly rude to me, yell at me and harass me about "not knowing what the fuck I'm talking about with dom strats" until I told him that he was filled with vitriol and hatred and blocked him. Very glad to see other people get struck by their true colours. He's a real piece of work and needs to fuck off and learn how to be nice to others. Don't know about anyone else though.

Update; I got banned for this message LMFAO and got an entire wall of bullshit spewed at me. They're trying to backpedal.

what im getting from all of this is that ice has a terrible community. this isn't the first time people like squidragon and jba have ended up on ar because of being complete and utter assholes and it probably wont be the last ngl. i was in ice discord but left a little while ago after reading this. squidragon really strikes me as that one discord moderator meme

replying to this post but it's pretty much @ anyone who's been posting bad experiences about ice (that are not from old ice time, the infamous bob days)

personally, i havent enjoyed my (admittedly few) interactions with tserin, they strike me as needlessly blunt or rude. as for jba, i get the vibe they're always fed up with everything and like they were doing others a favor (i get dom work is unpaid but if thats the case then step back?)

BUT i'd really appreciate deets about squid being an ass because they were the one icedom person i thought was nice, and the reason why i still supported the cat adopts

How exactly do you mute someone in a text-only server on Discord? I've been using it since the beginning and that's never been a feature. I've also been an active member of the server since the early days and never saw that happen, when even was this?

role muting- if you take away the role that lets someone speak in a channel, you'll mute them. pretty common for announcement channels (non-admins/mods are muted) but less so for regular discussion channels.

as someone who has been in ice since 2016 i can tell others right now that yes, the community is one of the worst ones out of all of the flights. i want to leave but i would feel bad simply because of the fact that ive been here so long i have emotional attachment. a few people can ruin a whole flight... a lot of the people who are mods there are very power hungry and always have been. i can also agree to the tserin having admin thing and jumping down people's throats which is really kind of off putting considering they are not even in ice????

id love to see a "revamped" ice discord with new faces instead of squid + tserin stinking up the place acting like they are some kind of god. i don't know about jba but they seem very stuck up as well with the rest of that crew. im very glad im not involved in anything on the forms or discord and just lurk there. i havent posted here before but had to come out of hiding for this one. :( i have disliked ice ever since a new player joined, asked for a free dragon in pms from sale tab, and kept telling me to speak english properly

Same, makes me glad circumstance made me never join the ice discord/decide to get too involved in the community. It suck tho, cuz I like the flight aesthetics, it just wouldn’t feel right to move out. Back to the solo player experience.
