I stated multiple times in the tumblr stuff that I agree with that tho? Like in general if someone says they dont like a specific word used for them? I also never called the user in question guy. Nor was I the one to escalate the situation in the first place.
Like, did I word things badly in those responses? People keep bringing up that when I did say multiple times that yes I agree, if someone says they don’t want the word guy used for them then dont use it. I dont like how other people in the conversation had implied they wouldn’t respect that, but I dont think I actually saw any of them call them guy after (doesn’t make the implication better). However I also may have failed to process it if they did. Sometimes my brain is rude like that and I can read something multiple times without it actually mattering.
Like, I do regret the comment, in the AITA comments someone actually did explain it. While I do think the actual situation was a bad faith “did you just assume my gender” thing, that doesn’t change that gender doesn’t equal pronouns. And while I still dont fully understand the not equal, I dont have to understand it to respect it.
Tbh that was my first comment in the whole screenshots thing and then i kinda just, went on a tangent because I do that. (Also I know I am bad at disengaging, like, thats just a common issue for me possibly related to executive dysfunction? Idk, it just means sometimes I need someone to tell me it’s time to stop talking in circles). Also tend to overexplain stuff, which tumblr comments caused issues with but no character limit to yell at me here!
