I'm taking your words at face value, since I can kinda understand the circumstance of hearing about AI generators and not necessarily how they're made or the growing concerns about them. They're still a rather new thing on the Internet (or at least, in terms of it being mainstream?) and depending on how people browse, their scope/knowledge of it can be limited. You did something stupid, I will say, but you coming out and admitting what happened and you apologizing is a good step in the right direction and... something I don't see often?
And also too since you brought up that you'll be refunding the people who bought the dragons. That's one of the things I really wanted to happen out of this whole ordeal, so thank you for that. Please also let them know that the art their dragons have were actually made with AI! If you've learned about how AI art is made, you'll probably understand that some people would feel really uncomfortable with having that in their dragons' bios.

Not to start conspiracy theories about the identity of the OP, but I went back to look at the screenshots from the Nearku drama after some nonnies mentioned them and the language of the original post, in addition to the lack of evidence paired with wild accusations sound uncannily like their speech pattern. Of course, they could have changed, but I wouldn't be surprised.

just chiming in to say that i agree. i find it hard to believe that "generating art via AI that takes no effort at all and selling it to others while signing it as your own" being a bad idea is kind of a no-brainer. especially coming from an artist. it's a shame that this is attached to the shadow foddart program as well.

tracing/paintover is normal and even encouraged in professional art *IF* the source material is for stock purposes. some AIs, including stable diffusion online, offer generated images under a CC0 license, which permits commercial use and does not require credit.
IMO it'd be underhanded to do the minimal amount of editing on a CC0 image and sell it as a cash grab. if they are totally repainting or painting over, or tracing and then taking it a new direction, that's exactly the point of so many stock and CC0 images.
that doesn't get into the ethics of AI art as a whole (and I do think there are issues with treating AI images as stock because of the general ethics), but I just wanted to point out that tracing a CC0 image is totally different from tracing someone else's non-CC0 artwork.

They told the owner they reaaaaally wanted the dragon and basically took advantage of the owner's kindness to get the dragon for a lower price (1.5kg + a UMA). C0smos then made a post "testing the waters" to see what people would pay for her. They put her on the AH for 15kg.

Oh wait SA - I forgot to include something else. Looking at C0smos' profile comments, candygoth12 seems to have obtained the xyy mist/black from a trade in which C0smos traded the xyy and a near miss for 1kg and some other dragon that wasn't specified. I tried looking at candygoth12's profile and didn't find any comments from C0smos about it, which is kind of strange, but I guess that explains why candygoth12 has the dragon now. It's still weird that they're auctioning it and that C0smos took the SB, though.
i don't get what the point of bringing up professional art practices has anything to do with this situation, let alone the general community around commissioning art online. your entire post has absolutely nothing to do with the situation at hand?

Imo, C0smos is still a fuck, idk what to think of candygoth12 anymore it kinda seems they got roped into it on accident (but them immediately auctioning off a dragon they got from a trade is still weird to me), and I overlooked SweetTreatLion before but you shouldn't either apparently as they seem to be in on this together with C0smos. (they were also the one to publicly give C0smos that price evaluation of the xyy mist/black)

It's because they are expensive, most flights don't want to waste money or have trouble saving enough to buy out the other.
They still happen. People just can't afford them more than once a year. It's expensive.
