what level of exalting is considered high for a single player? i've seen differing statements from dom-centric players in the past, with some people considering 100+ exalts in a week being high whereas other people state a big exalter averages 1000+ a week. what is the cutoff range for someone to be a flight's "big" exalter?
i know this is probably different from flight to flight, but i'm interested to see what other folks think. publicly shared spreadsheets don't always share the full story.
Regular week or a push/battle week? I personally count whether someone is a big exalter by their regular behavior, not by random weeks when they are more active. So I'd put the "big" exalters at 100+ dragons a week (whenever they want, not necessarily each week) which differentiates them from the (semi-)casual trainers who will not reach those numbers on a randomly picked week. The big exalters then come in their own flavors, with your 1000+ week being the "extra big" category, those that are only active during battles in "special occasion big exalters" and so on.
The other option, 1000+ a week, frankly sounds like someone's who isn't too into training imagination on what is a big exalter as I know what 1000+ dragons a week feel like and that's either someone who has no life or a push/battle week numbers.
AYRT Well, you're certainly not a big exalter yourself lol
Exp curve is logarithmic, so the fastest way to get 1000 levels would be by levels 4-6, 250-167 dragons, which is doable in several hours even in one day. Those same levels are the most profitable in regular circumstances too, so I won't consider anyone a "big" exalter if the only thing they do is train to high levels for generic, non-specialized, purposes.
DA i'm not a big minmaxer when it comes to exalting, at least not in the way a lot of people seem to be. so for me, "most profitable" is whatever gets me the most money in the shortest amount of time. i'm 100% down to do say, 50 7's rather than 50 5's, because i can get way more out of them from a pb or raffle or exalting myself than i can from the 5's. 7's just pay more, even if they take more time and aren't optimal. my big exalter (levels wise, if we're talking pre levels) days are behind me but i once pre leveled 3000-ish levels for a push. another time...i don't remember the levels but i had 300 dragons done and at least another hundred more dormed someplace. i'm definitely not one of the ones that does 4000 levels or more every push though. not unless i get really lucky attending. but that's by choice.

Buddy, that's a big hole in your own logic, 7s do not pay more exactly because they take more time...
in the time it takes you to level a dragon from 6 to 7, you can level an entirely new dragon from 1 to 6, and same for 5->6 and 1->5 etc etc. while a single level 7 nets a higher price, you could train 2-6x as many lower level dragons in the same time frame and make comparable if not higher profits, and/or be more helpful for dom placements.
obviously its your fodder and your time so you can do whatever you want. i can understand exclusively training to 7+ if the fodder floor is very high, if you have limited space/starting funds, or if youre storing for a battle that's weeks away. but for all other situations it is undeniably more efficient in both time and price to not train to 7
Yep, completely right. Since I joined in 2015 I have exalted a whopping two dragons. One was because I was curious and another because someone asked me to for their lore.
I just heard someone, a while ago, mention that they tend to train to level 7 then exalt, so I just used that number, I train to level 10 and then sell, mainly as an excuse to get into the coliseum (which hasn't worked lately :P)
I personally would consider anyone who exalts 100s of dragons daily/weekly regularly a big exalter, no matter the level they are training to.
good point, i never thought to differentiate between them. for this im mostly curious about big hitters during pushes. this summer when fire dom was in the hot seat (har har) one of the criticisms was that a lot of big exalters had recently left fire. its made me wonder what that means in terms of fire's dom capabilities - did they lose someone who consistently exalted 500 levels in a push week, or someone with 5k levels? i dont think theres a widely accepted definition so i appreciate your thoughts so far.
based on past OOF raffles that share participant data it looks like there are people who are capable of exalting/sending 3k+ dragons, but i have to assume that some of those are of users who send unlevelled or merc dragons.
20 level 5s a day on average is kinda like "I coli daily while I watch TV" so I suppose that's where I'd draw the line. So 700 levels a week or so, less if they're training 7s or 10s for long storage.
