someone on tumblr was smart enough to screenshot the whole thread, including page 3. enjoy.

there's also a wayback machine link (linking to the post for "credit," though it looks to be a burner account)

I'm so glad these screenshots exist, because I was too late to see the original thread. The wild personal attacks did not disappoint lol.

One thing that I think will always frustrate me is when someone lays out an explanation of a problem and their concerns, and the response is "well why didn't you bring this up privately, you're just being rude by making your case in public!" The problem is not that someone decided to speak up, especially when they were so articulate and provided plenty of details. The problem is that people DID bring this stuff up in more private venues, multiple times, and it didn't solve anything. At this point people outside the flight deserve to know, and you could hardly ask for a better explanation of the issues.

personally, I don't think people outside the flight "deserve" (or even necessarily should) know.

but i suspect that's not really the point. the point is probably to force the conversation in a way where it CAN'T simply be brushed aside or ignored... because it sounds like that's what had been happening. over and over and over again, in fact.

It's extremely relevant to flight changes which are both time-gated and (for most users) expensive. Having information out there like this is in the public's best interest because people shouldn't get stuck in a flight they're miserable in. If a dom team wants stuff like this not to be in the public eye, then they should work to improve the flight, which AA clearly mostly hasn't done.

(If flight changes could be done at any time and for free, then I'd agree it has no purpose being public, but well. That's not how FR is set up.)

very good point - it's sooo hard to know how a flight's dom scene functions unless you have a good friend who can give you real talk other than "we have a great dom scene! 😊😊😊" lol

Also, even with a friend, taste is subjective. Unless they're screensharing the forums/flight discords (which runs into its own problems), what makes a good dom effort to one person may not be the same to another.

Like I was super into raffle attending as my primary contribution to dom, and at one point joined a flight a dom friend recommended only to find out it was mostly coli programs and in-flight efforts with very few OOFRs planned over the next X time. Someone else may really enjoy sunburns (or equivalent programs), or the various coli programs, or really appreciate 'lend a coli team' or 'lair expansion' efforts aimed at newbies, etc.

Even among flights that have their shit together, it's hard to tell if it'll be for you until you're actually there.

We may not need to know, but sometimes this is necessary to get change when all else fails. See lightning. The same kind of public call-out led to things being fixed.

And yea, like the other anon said. People wanting to go to fire deserve full disclosure of what they're getting into.

Now... hah, no way.

Posting to FRD definitely feels to be a last resort. It breaks the rules of the forums, but it gets the word out to others on a larger scale. Booleano could have let everything be since they're not in the flight so it's not their problem; but I suspect given how much talk there has been on Fire Dom lately, they must have decided to speak out. No one in Fire is going to do it publicly, but no one in Fire is being heard.

Still. Screenshots would have been nice. I want to know how long Fire has been silently trying to ask for a change in Dom before they finally snap.

Now that I saw the whole thing...

Am I the only one baffled that, when a list of polite criticism and real issues was brought up, the only response fire Dom had was to hurl abuse and personal attacks? No one addressed a single issue.

Just were the cattiest bitches possible.
