I don't remember specifics, but there was an incident back in 2015 where Ice threatened to steal Fire's holiday, and they would have done it, easily, with the combination of how dom worked back then, plus all the rich/whales it had.

There was also a RUMOR that Plague was going to push during Thundercrack (in the same year) and the rumor itself made DR EXPLODE with Plague hate.

yeah i really cant imagine this ending positively for the flight that steals dom for the holiday. people would probably avoid supporting their dom efforts moving forward, i know i would.

My issue with it isn’t even that people would get mad at the pushing flight, it’s that they would send so much fodder to them. The moment you flip on someone’s holiday, the entire site will rally behind them, so it’s nearly impossible to actually do it. I wish it were, though, it’d be funny.

yeah IIRC, Light and Lightning didn't have dom their first year because the "tradition" didn't start until Fire/Arcane holiday, I think?

No. Lightning had theirs year one. Light was the only flight that lost theirs.

Lightning got theirs, but Ice threatened to take it away and then "graciously" decided to 'give it back' to them to "ensure their revelry"

Yeah. A couple members of Ice Flight did try to take Fire's first year, but many people rivaled against them so Fire did not lose it.

More specifically (as I actually read this drama within the last year, some of the old stuff is juicy)

It was 99% one player in ice who wanted to steal flameforgers. One very very rich player. Which, yeah the fact that one asshole could have stolen the festival was a huge issue.
