It's the players. This isn't the first time they've made an abrupt change due to someone starting Discourse (remember when the serthis were nagas? Then lamias for five seconds before they changed it again because people were still discoursing?)
Dang, I went for like 15 of the Blaze Branches and 20 of the auras, and thought I went hard! That's impressive.
they didn’t change it because of players whining. the staff had solid reasoning and came to their own conclusions. and frankly i wish i could block anyone who’s up in arms about ~aesthetic~ and ‘whiny playerbase’ when the staff CHOSE to remove what they came to view as a reference to animal abuse. wah wah things are being sanitized and the chicken familiar i barely looked at for more than five seconds before the drama got changed :’( jfc who cares, if you’re upset about an art asset being cEnSoReD you’re ten times more annoying than people who were rightfully unhappy with the implication of horrific animal abuse.
I don't know what you were expecting by purposefully going into a thread where people would be expressing views you wish you could block them over. Have you considered closing the thread and doing something else

but this was an art asset that the FR staff DREW and APPROVED before adding it to the site, this isnt some usermade thing that the admins suddenly discovered and said "hey we cant have this on our site!!!" this is official onsite art.

Undel said she didn't approve the final art tho. So it's entirely possible she saw it after the fact and decided against it.

Anon i dont have any stake in this fight (i think the whole things kinda a nothingburger on both sides tbh) but undel explicitly says "I approved the original familiar" in that link
I definitely got a lot fewer branches, and they're the more expensive thing, so that still sounds like a strong haul!
Yeah, it's not going to work with every color/gene combo, but what tert does? I've been testing it on various dragons and I can definitely see some potential there.

Now I don't really care as I haven't been active and thus missed warriors way and didn't know what the fans looked like but I just have to ask.......why approve something she straight up didn't see like....I'm going into game development and I have classes where we are making a game as a team over the semester and I make sure even the smallest of things that change visually gets someone higher up eyes on it and approval before I move on. Mostly because I'm paranoid but also to make sure it still works with the theme/idea. So the whole 'approving without actually laying eyes on it' thing straight up *baffles* me.

It's PAINFULLY obvious Undel was referring to not knowing what the REAL LIFE EQUIVALENT looked like, NOT that she approved the familiar "without actually seeing it". I don't care about the battlelisks either way because I don't like the FR Basilisks in general but I WOULD like some of you to use your brain a little.
I'll chime in and say that for g1s its good to price things relative to egg price/300g-ish. Good XYZ usually go for around egg price these days or up to 1kg if they're really nice. In order to go higher it'd need to be extra fancy like greyscale, have specific popular colors, or be extra matchy. Though selling g1s has been particularly brutal the past few months, I feel. Anon, "respectfully"... it's actually not that obvious at all, her meaning isn't clear. it sounds like she either 1: approved the concept but not the final art bc someone else worked on it or 2: approved the final art but didn't know what real life cockfighting looked like. both are plausible.
in any case, the person who posted the link's point stands: Undel didnt know about real life cockfighting and made the decision herself. it wasn't necessarily a bunch of angry users complaining that led to this change. they probably just brought the issue to her attention.

I'm not a native English speaker and I got the same meaning as ayrt so I guess, according to you, I'm a dumb fuck, cool. There is no need to be so angry over a trivial misunderstanding.
It's really not obvious, kind of like how your comment really isn't respectful.
FR users are notorious for their abysmal reading comprehension and their inability to read a whole post. youre fighting a losing battle if you expect otherwise. people are still going "AGILITY WAS REMOVED WHY WAS I DODGED!!!! STAFF LIED" weeks after staff said they temp nerfed high-agility enemies, to name one example.
The lair expansions and dens have been nice for storage space and just having more pretty dragons, but god damn has the relatively dead dom scene completely killed my interest in the site.
