Minecraft has about 140 million active players. FFXIV has 35 million. Flight Rising is harder to find figures for active players than MMOs, but it has about 580,000 accounts.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming your question isn't in terrible faith (which, in case you didn't know, people assume it's sealioning at best because actual transphobes make this kind of comment all the time, it was in those Von Gacy screenshots for one thing):

Even without the orders of magnitude difference in player bases, one of the reasons you know trans women play Minecraft and FFXIV is probably that there's a lot of streaming or voice chat for those games and some people can't avoid disclosure. While FR has people claiming identities, there's zero obligation to do so and a totally different style of interaction to online gaming. Compare it to Neopets or other browser games if you feel compelled to analyse the gaming preferences of trans women.

NAYRT

You and bullshit like this are the explanation. No one likes gotchas where their hobbies are analysed to prove something about their gender, including trans women.

It's probably just sheer coincidence? Like how do you even know for sure that there are 'way more' FtM than MtF anyway lmao

From my perspective I happen to see more people identifying as a feminine identity than I do a masculine or non-binary one playing FR. Does this mean that FR actively cultivates an environment that favors feminine people, and/or disregards its masculine and non-binary fanbase? No. To me, it's just by chance that the userbase has more active feminine players because more feminine people found out about FR, joined, and actively play it. I honestly don't think this is that deep. (For all I know the fanbase really does have more masculine people than it does feminine but also I don't care because this question is super weird)

edit: also sorry if any of my terminology is incorrect or anything. I just wasn't sure how to encompass everything so if I did a misstep lemme know

Honestly, this entire thread topic feels baity to me.

You can't know these figures, because not every person who is trans will scream it off the mountaintop. Hell, I don't always realize the person I'm chatting with is trans unless they say something.

Not that it matters. A cool person is a cool person. An asshole is an asshole. Past that? Not my business.

Honestly, and I'm speaking as a transmasc person here, I assume it's the same reason trans communities on Reddit for example generally lean transfem. Both started out with a userbase skewed towards one sex for one reason or another, being trans became more widely accepted, some of that userbase transitioned, etc. Not a perfect explanation since it doesn't account for newer players, but it's the best I've got. (INB4 someone twists this into "female socialization" or some other TERF shit, not my point at all. Just my own two cents based on my /own/ experience, it hardly speaks for everyone out there.)

I agree with above comments that your framing is kind of weird, but I've wondered about this myself a couple of times coming from the other side (being transmasc in largely transfem online communities), so I get it anon.

Hjgjgjsjdj relax maybe they're speaking from personal experience? I'm trans and have a lot of transfem friends who play XIV, I love the fact that they have a catgirl race lmao. Lalafells are cute too.

Not sure about Minecraft though I'm pretty sure everyone likes Minecraft

They have a point. How tf does this jerk know there's less trans women unless they're actively patrolling for trans women?

They sound like a chaser tbh

addressing this in good faith:

if I had to guess I would say that it might be because fr was promoted a lot in places like deviantart, tumblr, livejournal, etc., and those spaces have always been more inclusive-ish to women and girls who were into the fandom/art/roleplay side of the internet, compared to the rest of the internet

so in fr, female newcomers see many people introducing themselves as female in their bios/signatures, and so they feel more comfortable also displaying their gender identity, and from there it's kind of a self-propagating thing that fr gains an informal reputation as a place that is welcoming to women, trans or cis

so it's not that the transmasc players aren't there, playing, it might be that they just don't feel as comfortable outing themselves publicly in the fr website directly

might be the same reason-ish, though, many young people in egg-mode playing and they only feel safe coming forward when they see more established players establishing their real pronouns that happen to match the newer players?

People who have over six figures worth of gems without buying them or drawing art/accents simultaneously scare and confuse me

(Anonymous) 2021-12-12 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
buying them as in from other users, or FR itself? :O

(Anonymous) 2021-12-12 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
I’m a user who fits this description. It’s all from years of collecting items and selling them years later when they’ve increased in value.

Wonder why they got suspended. They're like one of the only consistent gem sellers left so as weird as they were I'm bummed lol.

suspense was suspensed??? today or a day ago, going by forum activity.

pure speculation but they were a very new account with a lot of gems who in one of their last posts said they "took a very long break and returned", so perhaps second-accounting?

Total speculation but iirc they always bought their gems from FR instead of playing the market and getting gems that way. Maybe they got banned bc they ended up buying BM gems to try and keep up with gem trade demands?

I have noticed in the last few years that quite a few gem sellers have gotten banned. (Like Carnivore, xxxx) so I wonder if there's a correlation or just pure confidence. (again, all pure speculation)
