my super dumb theory is that the multis belonged to a black market gem seller and were gambling on getting xxx's since they knew people would pay out the ass for them in pure. The more multis they spread out with an ass ton of tickets, the more chances each account will get their own xxx's. They then take gems and turn around and sell them for RL money.
