Nah. IIRC, the player was rather obnoxiously trolling people upset about the eye change, pulling the old "I don't see why anyone is upset. My side that got what we wanted, which means we were completely reasonable and your feelings are invalid" type shit.
People had been repeatedly explaining to the player and they deliberately chose to play "ignorant".
