Some of the same people crying now were the same people who were smug and self righteous about scattervials being the only way to get the eye types people wanted.
So yeah. Enjoying seeing them being on the other side of the fence.
Same. If you're enjoying the salt more power to you - I genuinely mean that, not everyone who isn't a pollyanna is a cruel person - but as happy as I am to be able to tint my older dragons now, I wish it hadn't come at the price of other investments and playstyles.
However, it's been clear since day 1 of the eye system that there was always going to be unhappiness for at least someone if it changed or if it didn't. What really makes me sad is that it didn't have to be this way. Never. We could've got tint vials in the MP from the very start, fancy ones in the gem MP, scattersights in the coli, toss a couple in Baldwin and Swipp, still make them possible in hatchlings as a bonus - basically, the way it is now. If that were how the first eye update had gone, everyone could've just celebrated the new options and possibilities together.
I feel the same way about IriShim - people are unhappy now because certain dragons/colors are bugged per staff, and they understandably want them fixed. Others like their bugged dragons just as they are (and might not even know they're not 'supposed' to look that way) and will consider a fix to be a downgrade. In the interim, anyone in the know is afraid to get attached to IriShim dragons because they could log on tomorrow and have them look entirely different. And it's only ever going to get worse the longer it festers. There's no good solution now besides trading the current unhappiness of some users for the future unhappiness of others, and I wish that weren't the case.
now they know how i felt when my favorite light dragons got awful piss eyes and i couldn't do anything but gamble in the hopes they got something better because they changed the default eyes
Oh, I remember wincing for Light when everything when down. I was a little salty over in Nature because the old eye tint was basically what became Uncommon rather than Common, but not being able to match the old color at all must have felt worse. (Not to mention the lineart, but that's an entirely different can of worms.) I only have a couple of Light dragons and they weren't affected badly. Are Bright or Pastel at all like classic Light?
Sorry to hear, especially because I doubt we'll get more shade-only types any time soon. Hopefully at least being able to get the right almost-there tint with vials will help most who preferred the classic shade.
