First of all, I didn't say "lots of." I said "more than one" -- I can't remember whether it's been two or three artists, but the intended implication was that it wasn't an isolated, single-user incident, not to imply that it was a super frequent thing. I wouldn't consider 2-3 over 12 months to be "lots of," though YMMV.
Secondly, I didn't say I never got blocked. I said, "I very rarely encounter people who block me, and I've never seen my username come up in reselling contexts. (I admit I also don't seek out said contexts, but the only drama I've ever seen about myself was unrelated to skins and accents at all and also years ago since I'm fairly quiet on-site.)"
Which is true. The only drama I'm aware of/recall about me was years-old raffle drama around one of Fire's OOF raffles (which makes it somewhere between 2 and 4 years ago now, on the original dramarising before it got shuttered). I thiiiink there was one other thing on the original AR once, but I honestly don't remember what it was, though I'm quite sure it wasn't reselling-related as Ionly started selling my collection a year ago. So it is true to say that I've never seen my username come up once in reselling contexts. However, as I stated there, I also don't seek out reselling-specific contexts. I'm not in the GASP discord (assuming there is one), I'm inactive in the G1 hell discord, and I don't follow DramaRising or whatever replaced it (or whatever equivalents there are outside of ARR). So it's not impossible that someone somewhere has made a callout and blocked me, but I certainly haven't seen it, which is exactly what I said in the post.
But, as I said in another comment on this thread, anyone can feel free to block me if doing so would make them more comfortable: That said, anyone who wants to block me (you won't be losing sales; I haven't purchased an accent in basically a year now, and have zero plans to do so at any point in the future ever again) for the sake of their conscience can feel free to do so at Alestrius #56899. Do me a favour though; if you're going to block me, please let me know who you are so it can be two-way. I prefer to have mutual blockings going on whenever possible so that people can't get cold feet. :p
Paraphrases are not quotes, so you don't need to correct me. <3 Anyone can scroll up and read your exact words themselves.
I don't care enough to block you, but the defensiveness over what you yourself admitted was an unpopular opinion isn't a good look. Your motives are fishy and I suspect you're here to complain because someone high profile blocked you.
The thing is, there's a fairly large contextual difference between "lots of" and the intended implication of a small number. Hence trying to clarify, since that does paint a very different picture. I'm aware that I don't always phrase things clearly, but as I can't edit the OP on ARR to rephrase with added clarity as I could on other discussion forums, the best I can do is re-clarify and correct. It's not intended to be a slight against you, but rather, quite literally a correction. I admit I don't always phrase things perfectly though (the entire reason for corrections/clarifications like this), so I apologize if I caused any offense.
You're free to doubt my motives as you please, but (and again, this is only to my knowledge -- there could be someone out there I'm unaware of) there's only a singular "high profile" user who has me blocked, but they (again, to my knowledge) never had an accent thread, and I thiiink they finally got account-locked last year, so wouldn't be the source of drama now. :p
Honestly, I mostly just spend too much time on ARR because I have nothing more productive in my life to do at this moment in time, so what else is there to do than occasionally post prompts and hope that maybe through discussion, perceptions in the community can change for what I perceive to be the better? As mentioned in the OP, the prevailing community opinion originally wasn't on the side of "just name your own exalts," but over time and through rehashing the same discussion countless times, the community perception DID change. So I had hope that this could be another thing that would, in time, change. :p (And it did also prompt an interesting suggestion that I hadn't seen before, which hopefully someone's suggested on-site because it'd be a nice improvement for the site. Not that I'm optimistic the admins would ever implement it, lol)
