nayrt, just want Mystiek to finally quit, please leave the website you transphobic ass The worst thing is they post in literally every thread I open, every forum, every where. one can see why they can't quit, they are just so fucking addicted I guess
I hate how the suggestion forum has turned into an echo chamber because they hostile off anyone who dares to disagree with them. I really do hope the staff know that, because these idiots drive off anyone who disagrees.
For instance, you'd think no one likes the eye system and it was irreparably broken, when in reality, a lot of people think it's fine but don't want to be attacked for sharing their opinion.
Really? Do "a lot of people" like everything about the eye system or do you assume that they wouldn't change anything about it because they like the eye types themselves? Because I've seen all these posts here and on DR about how 'uwu a lot of players actually love the perfect eye system' when that doesn't seem to be the case in any of the groups or discords I am where you can, you know, actually see who is commenting. Most of the players I interact with have smaller or greater things they'd like to change.
And in the end, I find all these gripes about the Evils of Suggestions Forum Who Attack Everyone so, idk, performative. OK, let's assume that yes, most of the people do think that the eye types are perfect, so what? Staff ain't remote mind-readers, so they only hear those who say it's bad. Here, I'll solve your problem: post your opinion for the staff to see and block everyone you don't like in suggestions.
ARYT: "a lot of people think it's fine but don't want to be attacked for sharing their opinion" you: "I'll solve your problem: post your opinion for the staff to see and block everyone you don't like in suggestions"
? I think you have a point, anon, but the OP is pointing out that Suggestions is aggressive and echo chamber-y enough that people hesitate to even mildly disagree because they feel like they'll be attacked for disagreeing. Suggesting that people post their disagreements anyways seems like a short-sighted solution to "the suggestion forums seem incredibly hostile, which discourages people with less intense opinions from posting there."
This. It's not conducive to an open forum for discussion if the same group of people shut you down because they won't get off their soapbox, spewing the same rhetoric they always do, and use the same bullshit arguments to shut anyone down that doesn't support their demands.
Nah. I'm good on not being attacked for daring to disagree.
Personally, while, yes, the eye system could be improved, I feel they want too much control over giving natural eye types.
I personally think they should just put eye scatter back in, give it all natural eye types and price it at the scatterscroll price and let these people throw away their gems for their perfect dragon.
My problem is that you (the generic you in this case) cannot have it both ways - both whine about how The Suggestions Crowd don't represent your thoughts and do absolutely nothing about it. Is posting&blocking the best way? Probably not but I literally don't hear any other alternatives that go beyond 'whine more on anon, perhaps a miracle will happen and something changes'.
Personally, I think the answer is the staff should step in regarding the people that are being so hostile in the suggestion forums. But they haven't in this long, so I don't think we'll see that ever.
Hell, you can't even have a thread discuss liking eyes in the general forums without one of the "The eye system sucks" brigade showing up to drag it down. Because there was one. And of course the dude who has a tab and two dragons covered in anti eye rants showed up, among others trying to turn it into an argument.
I have to say that that dude (Misty something?) is a whole separate problem because they are overreacting just a little bit... But the sucks brigade is not unique to the eyes. For example, I love all of those 'share the evils of rng' threads and each and every time there are several mansplainers who show up just to tell everyone how they are stupid for actually hatching eggs and not selling them. So you know, I understand the frustration, but I don't understand or agree at all that the only solution is to silently whine when the block button doesn't have a limit.
I barely bother with Suggestions anymore so I don't know what the climate is there of late in that regard, but from what I recall the general request was 'literally anything but the existing RNG+Galore system'. For whatever it's worth, I agree.
Make scatters an exorbitant but set price? Sure.
New, cheaper scatter that can only do tints? Sure.
Way to transfer eye types between dragons? Sure.
'Magic pool' type of deal you can only use on one dragon once a day? Sure.
But (at least IMO), with the exception of Imp scrolls, which are retired for an understandable reason, dragon modification items should not be finite things that will only ever be able to climb in price for the remainder of the site's existence and/or until they're extinct.
Of course there's the problem of unfairness to those who believed the staff's word, so they bought and hoarded a ton of them. Best solution I can think of is to throw them on the gem MP for higher than running LAH (it's <900 at the moment, but I don't know what the fluctuations there have been), for the sake of argument 1000g. That way, anyone who has them now will be able to ditch their remaining supply for at least a small profit, but it gives the things a ceiling.
do exalters not search for daily bonuses on the AH? half my daily bonus fodder doesn't sell even on busy days, and I only price +600-1000 above fodder floor (for +1250 exalt payout)
Cool but at the same time I understand everyone who said that this 'prank' was low-effect: what does the LuminaxCon have to do with randomly flipped dragons?... Heck, if there was a new temporary map place specifically for LuminaxCon with all dashcon and other failed con memes, that would have been awesome.
The mistake here is thinking that people are interested in changing it. It would be nice if there was better moderation that made that forum a less toxic place, but most of us aren't mods, it's literally not our job to change it. The place isn't so important that it's worth some kind of campaign to change the culture there. It's not hypocrisy to just avoid it and occasionally talk among ourselves about how it's a soul-sucking place, so this "put up or shut up" deal is always odd to me.
There's been plenty other times the items don't match up with the actual prank though. I think the Marva eyes and the Waystone familiars are really the only direct reference to their respective year's prank.
But it would have been cute to see something on the map lol.
I never see floor-priced bonuses when I price check, they don't seem to hang around long
why buy floor-priced non-bonus fodder when the profit is better for +600-1000t bonus fodder, is more my question? I'll sell out my regular fodder fast while my bonus fodder hangs around (at same or slightly lower price than other bonus fodder)
https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/frd/2993548/11#post_47073940 Absolutely stunning salt from Aequorin's "open the bag" thread
"I’m here to complain about the lanyards which I assume everyone is doing bc seriously that is ABSOLUTELY uncool. there is nothing fun about getting to open your bag and realizing oops, you picked the wrong one! Your item is 1. not unique 2. barely noticeable 3. distinctly less impactful than the other two! It honestly feels like you’re mocking me, or that April Fools was intended to be a gachapon this year instead of a random item fun time.
I don’t know what I want, staff. I don’t know whether I want the lanyards updated, removed...I really don’t know. But at the current time it really feels like you made something that you knew was going to be worthless compared to the others, and you just...put it out anyway. Because you wanted to tell people that if they have bad luck they should just deal? Because some people arbitrarily should get rewards, and not others? Great. Fantastic. If I wanted that I would’ve played something like Genshin Impact.
I’m extremely put off by this. Thanks for making this game fun for everyone"
full bonus points for aequorin's "thanks! eat shit :)" response
I'm getting flashbacks to the ancient old himalaya salt we had when underbelly was released, when people were pissed the gene didn't cover enough of the dragons body ("but tertiary says ALL over the body not just the belly!!") or when the first arcane fest item was released (the scroll around the neck) and people were pissed it wasn't as big as the other items before it, because the scroll is just one piece, but the fire one was hammer + glasses + gloves and the light one was four pieces of jewerly

To all the people saying “the other prices will come down with time” that is absolutely not true. Flight Rising is a laissez-faire market, which means it’s dictated entirely by supply and demand; demand for the plush is high, demand for the lanyard is low. This will never change, because the lanyard is a bad item. The plush is completely unique, as is the mascot head, while the lanyard is small and insignificant, doesn’t make an impression, and is barely worth that 80 gems, even if that was its gem marketplace price.
If you’ve ever been to a con, you know what grab bags are actually like. lanyards are something that’s hapharzardly thrown into the bag at last minute as a bonus to your other gifts, along with the occasional pair of socks or small print. NO ONE gives out bags with Just lanyards in them. it’s not done.
Then the real world value of these items; a lanyard will run you MAYBE 5 dollars, a plush is more like 20-30, mascot head more like 35-40.
No matter how you look at it, it’s not fair in ANY way.
everyone join me in admonishing this because this is absolutely not acceptable
The comparison to real world con items just has me on the floor lmaoooooooooooo
