That rule was put in place a few years ago. It was re-iterated in the last 5-6 months in an announcement, but it's been there for a while. So if they were trading ACNH stuff, that by default has to be after the rule.

not liking these genes at all, they are incompatible with anything else but themselves, and maybe basic.
it's just going to look super weird for me to have some iridescent\patchwork\whatever dragon at the end.

Those genes are being added to the list of "Only allowed in the lair for exalt bonus" genes

The genes remind me of Winnie the Pooh and Nightmare Before Christmas.
I assume they were going for an autumnal/voodoo doll/Halloween-y feel.

I can't see myself using them a lot, but I think the genes have a certain appeal. Stitched/constellation/glimmer is a pretty cool combo (especially in sunset/saffron/wine)

as someone who had a whole neopets account full of plushie pets i am 100% sold.

and i can see the primary being tough to match, but i can already see a dragon who's patched up their own wings in my future.

the genes are not my cup of tea but i don't need to like every gene, more for the people that like them!

I don’t love the genes but I do like the variety of colors which is nice for a treasure gene. I could see a lot of younger players liking this
