But tbh I'm more annoyed with the number of anonymous posts on DR defending Nearku in a really awkward and condescending way. I get the impression that either Nearku posted those or they have really immature friends.

I was an absolute idiot until sometime during college, when I (thankfully) matured. There really isn't all that much difference between a 17, 18, and 19 year old.

I have no idea why, in matters like thus, we treat "being a minor" like such a set thing. It's not like people all of a sudden on their 18th birthdays become magically perfectly responsible and knowledgeable and stop being an immature teenager.

And this isn't something like "being annoying on the forums". Sure, be decent about pointing out that nearku is absolutely wrong and shouldn't be giving advice like that (I'm in the camp of being decent to everyone, minor or not), but it needs to be pointed out. Whether they are 17 or have crossed the magical line to 18 in days to months, when presumably according to all of the "they're a minor!" people, it would be okay to talk about.

Nah, when those screenshots dropped I got worried for the poor fucker (Nearku). Suddenly I could understand how they can spend so much in gems.
The way they say that "you can manipulate them to give you money, but never give anything back" is pretty fucking dangerous.
Best case scenario, they grow up to be a gold-digger/catfishing POS and someone who could never make a longlasting relationship with people; worst case scenario, their antics catch up with them and something horrible could happen to them.

Yeah it's not like teenagers can't have jobs or anything. They must be manipulating fake people for money.

I'm assuming your replying to me but I have no idea what your doing. I get the feeling your mocking me but I also don't care. I'm just curious why you felt the need to do this?

Honestly? Yes. I think people should be decent about pointing out when someone is wrong regardless of their age. But FR’s community doesn’t tend to do that. The general reaction to someone doing something stupid hasn’t been to take them aside and explain why what they said is hurtful/stupid/dangerous. FR community has a tendency to just attack people mercilessly, and it doesn’t actually make anything better. It’s just a way for people to feel smug and self-righteous.
(There are definitely some cases where people refuse to listen and keep doing shitty things after it’s been pointed out to them, but this isn’t one of those cases.)

The reason the “nearku is a minor” thing matters is because of the accusations that nearku was misleading minors. Many of nearku’s accusers were taking the “we must protect the minors!” approach. Therefore, nearku’s age is relevant.

Can't speak for everyone, but the reason I mentioned that nearku was advising a kid, specifically, is because I'm pretty sure the person they were talking to (won't mention their name since they're still a minor + I'm not sure at this point if they have left that dangerous situation) is quite a bit younger, 14-15, and is in a vulnerable situation, even if they weren't a minor. I think nearku is old enough to know better than to say what they did. It's not like they're some 10-year-old parroting creepy pastas they find funny.

Plus, in the screenshots, you can see that other people called nearku out or told them to stop, but nearku ignored them. I used to be in nearku's friend group from g1 hell, and they're normally a pretty friendly, fun person to hang around. If I saw that nearku was trying to be a better person, even if they'd made millions of mistakes, I wouldn't say anything. But it's pretty clear to me at this point that nearku doesn't care about anything but themselves, and showing off to other people. Their response to these callout posts haven't been to apologise, or even to lie low. They threw out everyone except their most pretentious asskissers from their Discord servers, whined about being doxxed, threatened to doxx the people who posted the screenshots, and harassed everyone they think have been involved, including some people who don't even know what's going on. So it seemed to me that all I can do at this point is show other people what they're like so people can decide for themselves if they want to associate with them.

Anyway, that's all I've got in response to your 'we should point out mistakes instead of bullying them' point. I agree with you, but we've tried that, and it hasn't worked. So now all I can do is tell others to be careful.

Maybe I'm weird but I'm 26 and tonight was the first time I was offered to buy heroin. That's what I get for being naive and thinking it was a good idea to try to eat at the local park at 9:00 PM.

Honestly come to think of it, this is one of the few times I've been offered to buy drugs. I'm sheltered.

I paid someone upfront to melt some items for me. It was less than 20, so the brewer could have done it for one day. 24 hours later, I haven't heard back from them. No biggie, things come up.

However, they've been taking orders all day and adding customers to their queue. Meanwhile, apparently they haven't even started brewing my items. Wtf how is this acceptable behavior from a paid service? Why keep taking orders when you can't even start working on your first order?

oh dang, are the newer customers paying upfront? has anyone mentioned in the thread that they have received the materials?

i swear the AH for these looked super different a few days ago. and their prices are all the same amounts. i'm so confused, am i missing something or is this just classic price hiking

if I had to guess I'd assume they're pricing with such a high gap so people who don't know what the market normally looks like will think "omg someone must've mispriced this/this is so cheap compared to the rest! what a steal" And either the price is really just 500g because everyone bought out the cheaper listings or they just expired.
Tangentially I've listed things at different ascending prices before (it looks like you're undercutting yourself on the AH), it's kind of a way to hedge your bets so that if the price floor rises while you aren't paying attention you still get to cash in on it. Not sure how applicable it is in this situation though.
