it's very nice actually. calm and slow forum. i don't do flight discords, but what I see of the flight forum is pretty casual and nice.
we don't have a moderator atm tho, our old one is vacationing in earth rn.

Very few people use the flight forums anymore. Discord is faster, more efficiently moderated, better organized, and there's more people in general. I'd be surprised if you found any flight that was active with more than just forum games or "hi I'm new" "welcome" "welcome" "hi! welcome!" -> thread dead.

If you change your username, does the "Designed by ____" bit in the description for skins and accents you've made also change?

Unless they've changed something recently, you've always had to request changes manually.

Co-workers around me keep getting scares all the time and continue to go to work like dumbasses. The person i work closest with had one of their family members nearly directly exposed to Covid and yet they STILL came to work despite feeling unwell. They were sent home and weren't allowed to come back until they tested negative. They did, fortunately.

Very few people are actually wearing their mask properly (not covering their nose, taking it off to talk, taking it off at any point not outside). Karens keep bitching about long waits and out of stock product like we aren't short staffed AND short-supplied. People keep taking their children and infants into stores like it's not a big deal. If it weren't for mandatory masks, I'd swear that over half of them wouldn't be wearing one at all.

My friends have had a couple of scares in being in contact with people who are in direct contact, but they've been fine it seems. They're being careful and sensible. My family, on the other hand, is a bunch of dumbasses who're off having bbqs and family gatherings like none of the older folks are at risk of dying from it in a very small and crowded house despite a scare they had a week before. They're upset my household won't go, but everyone in it is exposed to hundreds of people daily. Why. Just...Why.

We're literally one of the worst hot spots for Covid in the US and they're talking about opening schools again... Ha. No.

All in all...I'm actually handling this a lot better than I would if all of this had happened last year. It's the stress of other people being so reckless and stupid really makes me wish I could be the one to be stuck in my house for two weeks and be away from people without losing my job.

In a Nutshell: Wear the damn masks, don't yell at the essential workers, be patient, wash and sanitize your hands whenever you enter/leave a place of business, stay home if you can, and don't listen to the nutjobs that are saying Covid's a conspiracy crafted by the government. It's not. Please. Thank you for reading my rant and thank you OP for asking. Stay safe and healthy.

to add, in the database the username attached to the skin will update automatically, but the description of the skin/accent has to be manually updated by the skinmod/admin

Good on them if they do, but my guess is not. They'd end up being flooded with events from likely years ago and the more recent occurrences would go buried-meaning more time for the active ones to go on to make a bigger mess.

yo FR staff, for the love of whichever deity you prefer (FR or otherwise), can you please revamp the god damn inventory system? I've spent the last forty minutes unvaulting retired festival items from my vault 1 at a time just spam clicking and I'm not even half done, and my mouse finger is murdering me. PLEASE can you make hoard management better. ;;

(and before anyone goes 'oh what a poorly-disguised humblebrag' -- no. the vast majority of those items are garbage worth 100k or less. this is literally just me being frustrated at how bad the item management system is.)

Honestly, half the time the reason I don't sell stuff is because finding it in my mess of a hoard/vault is just too much trouble to be worth it. x_x

The last part of the 7th anniversary update announcement mentions which parts of the site that they're updating, and you'll be happy to know that the Hoard & Vault are currently receiving active development. https://imgur.com/LMgw6Yn

Considering we haven't heard ANYTHING else to my knowledge, I'm not optimistic that'll be remotely soon.

Though honestly, I won't be around for that so. /shrug It's more a petty grievance/annoyance at this point.

Yeah, I viewed this on mobile the first time and the images stretched the whole page and a lot of icons take up too much room on a small screen when I just want to read the text.

I just saw the update and while it's more readable now, that meme image with StormCatcher is still overlapping past the page on mobile.

Search the hoard, mass select items, tag items (such as "baldwin" or "festival" or "food items with worth over 10 points") ... a dream.

Personally, I'd like it if the DQAT and Positivity threads were separate posts entirely? This isn't really about the layout itself, but considering you guys are gonna be moderating things staying in the wanker thread, and many people who aren't used to DW (me for a while, for example) don't entirely understand the way the site works, I think either putting the wanker thread on the end of the posts (below positivity and dqat) or putting them in separate posts would help a bit to keep people from posting in the wrong place!

I'm a fan of the update for onsite trades, but not the update to cross-site trading. No trading with pet sites that use Nintendo IP content? At all? And the reason?

Allowing cross-site trades with games that use another company’s IP can and could be seen as making money off of their trademark and copyright. I literally do not understand this logic whatsoever. I get no one wants to deal with Nintendo's lawyers, but I think even if Nintendo goes after a site like Pokefarm, they're not even going to consider a site like FR??? Like, what?

(Pokefarm was a just an example, since I don't play it and don't even know if they allow offsite trades LOL)

I feel like a hoard revamp has been promised since forever and I’ve been around since year 1. There have been a few updates that make me hopeful, but honestly it feels like it’ll never come at this point

I mean, Nintendo are known for being incredibly ruthless. Even tiny fan-projects get taken down. I'm not surprised at all that FR wants to err on the side of caution here. Just because they might slip under the radar doesn't mean it's allowed, and means there could be issues if they do get found out.
