Been there, done that. OP, it gets better once you start to get your head underwater. I spent hundreds in art, gacha and micro transactions when I had a low paying job and worse, when I had no job at all (I had 500$ a month, and I was still buying 200$ adopts... yeah.) And very suddenly, I realized: this is fucking stupid, I'm going outside. Now, I have a limit of 40$/month for games and micro transactions. I'd suggest you set up a hard limit for yourself. Be it 5$ or 50$. Maybe translate the money you put in the game as what you will directly get: do you want to buy gems to buy yet another ungened G1 that is not that good? To buy yet another UMA that will gather dust because you don't have gems to buy dragons? Or do you want to treat yourself with a gem gene to finish a project, or an expensive familiar to complete your bestiary?
It's very hard to break free of FOMO. But it's just pixels.
The only thing I ever regretted not buying on FR (a dragon), I managed to buy its exact twin just a few days ago, after two years. Anything else I wanted? I forgot about. And this stands for everything "pixel" I used to buy. I regret nothing I missed buying.
