Re: Rockbreaker's

uhhh, do we not remember that these highly successful artists Made A Guide. giving tips on how to potentially increase your chance of winning the skin & accent contests. based on their own experiences. and one of the tips on the list. was LITERALLY. "consider breed variety" / "choose a base that has less competition."

we've KNOWN as a community that a new ancient breed was set to be released. nobody was being tricked or deceived.

experienced artists will naturally be quicker at creating a contest entry.

these artists shelled out an ASSLOAD of their own gems in the name of encouraging other people to make entries for the contests - 500g per entry submitted, no matter if you win or lose, and an earth sprite raffle prize. they spent valuable time giving feedback & critique to artists that request it. thread for those who didn't know: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/raf/3256014/1

and the artists who submit entries to the contest DON'T FUCKING PICK WHO WINS. staff passing over an entry just because it's from an artist who has won before would be Shitty, because that's Biased Judgment. why would they implement a win-cooldown when that would just limit the number of entries? 16 people who can't play again next time? and for what, so people don't get butthurt when they see winners continue winning? pick-me clown behavior!

we get UMA-quality skins & accents for 35kt every month, and yet so many people are frothing at the mouth & pissing & shidding because there are a handful of artists who happen to get a lot of wins. it reeks of entitlement, jealousy, and "crabs in a bucket" mentality. "the entries i want don't win, so i don't want your entries to win, either."

MythicalViper, 888, and any other "big" artist you want to whine about ALL play by the same rules as everybody else. same amount of entries allowed as anyone else, same time frame, same bases, same rules. it's not a contest of votes & popularity, so you can't say it's an existing fanbase that propels them to a win. heck, staff probably even judges contest entries WITHOUT viewing the usernames attached to them. because that would be the most fair. (like, they're not just scrolling the entries thread with the rest of us. i bet they pull the images & gather them somewhere else where they can be viewed all at once for the winner selection process.)

anyway. these repeated waves of hate for serial winners - who are doing EVERYTHING in their power to encourage other artists to play, like literally fucking paying them, Despite how ungrateful the lot of you are - remind me of another rotten-ass recurring take. a real black-and-white approach that tries to paint FR with the same brush as "big corporations" whenever they add something purchased with gems to the website. "tHeY'rE jUsT tRyInG tO mAkE mOnEy," as if keeping the site running doesn't cost money? as if FR isn't a tiny team trying to pay their people fairly & avoid crunchtime? as if this isn't a passion project kept alive by the loving attention of people who CARE that we as users are all having fun, being safe, and exercising our creativity? like, just because an indie-type project gains some notoriety doesn't mean that they're suddenly on the same level as Walmart. it's not "evil capitalism" to sell or buy gems. this is the easiest petsite ever to earn premium currency on. remember when some people were saying it was EXPLOITATIVE to put a treasure price on the pride scene? when everyone already got one free copy of the damn thing already? different clown paint, same goddamn circus.

go eat a snack to raise your blood sugar & draw a cat in crayon or something. we'll be fine.
