the flag discourse itself is stupid as shit because I have met not a single gay person irl or even in most places on the internet that want anything more than the rainbow, trans, and sometimes lesbian flags lol. most gay ppl I talk to are exhausted by the corporatization of queerness, including all the flags which is solely just to sell merch, let's be real

but then again FR's core audience is indeed chronically online teenagers whose entire identity relies on which new obscure flag they can put in their profile so I can understand the hesitation
